President Muhammadu Buhari commends unity of purpose in fighting spread<\/div>\n
\n
of COVID-19 in the country, particularly the willingness for
\nself-isolation, social distancing, and contributions of public spirited
\nindividuals and institutions who consistently mobilize resources to
\nsupplement efforts of Federal and State governments.<\/p>\n

The President extols State Governments, religious bodies, health
\nworkers, Federal Government agencies, including security outfits,
\nNational Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and Manufacturers Association
\nof Nigeria for rising to the occasion to protect the country and its
\ncitizens, assuring that the government will remain steadfast in
\ndeploying more resources to lessen the burden of the pandemic.<\/p>\n

While calling for more compliance with regulations and restrictions on
\nmovement and gatherings for the safety of all citizens, President Buhari
\nfurther reassures that government directives will not affect production
\nand distribution of food, medications, medical equipment and other
\nessentials as the nation wades through the global health challenge,
\nwhich already portends dire economic strains.<\/p>\n

The President directs all relevant agencies and regulators to provide
\nenabling environment for industries to sustain their operations by
\nensuring reasonable access to industrial supplies and inputs like water,
\nfuel, gas and essential infrastructure and relaxing of stringent laws,
\ncommending the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and commercial banks for
\nthe interventions to make forex and credit more accessible to those on
\nthe manufacturing line.<\/p>\n

In giving assurances of firm support for the Manufacturers Association
\nof Nigeria by proactively addressing the potential impact of the
\npandemic on the Nigerian economy, the President requests that all
\nnecessary measures be put in place to protect and promote the health and
\nsafety of industrial workers.<\/p>\n

President Buhari calls on all leaders across the country, including
\nreligious and traditional leaders, to further support the Federal and
\nState governments in the ongoing sensitization programmes on the need to
\nstay at home and keep a safe distance in the public, and to dissuade
\ncitizens from panic buying and rumour mongering.<\/p>\n

The President affirms that the collective effort of all Nigerians will
\nmake a historic difference in checking the spread of COVID-19,
\nrehabilitating those already affected and keeping citizens alive and.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
