Monetary contributions to the account set up at the Central Bank of<\/div>\n

Nigeria (CBN) under the auspices of the Private Sector Coalition Against
\nCOVID-19 (CACOVID) have hit N15billion.A statement issued on behalf of the coalition by the Director, corporate
\ncommunications, Central Bank of Nigeria, Isaac Okorafor, on Wednesday,
\nApril 1, 2020, listed 37 donors, including individuals, banks and other
\ncorporates.<\/p>\n

A breakdown of the contributions showed that the Central Bank of Nigeria
\nand Aliko Dangote donated N2billion each, while Abdul Samad Rabiu (Bua
\nSugar Refinery); Segun Agbaje (GTB); Tony Elumelu (UBA); Oba Otudeko
\n(First Bank); Jim Ovia (Zenith Bank); Herbert Wigwe (Access Bank) and
\nFemi Otedola of Amperion Power Distribution donated N1 Billion each to
\nthe relief fund.<\/p>\n

Other donors include Pacific Holding Ltd, Union Bank Plc, Sterling Bank
\nPlc, Standard Chartered Bank, Stanbic IBTC, Citi Bank Nigeria Ltd, FCMB,
\nFidelity Bank, ECOBank, African Steel Mills and Multichoice Nigeria
\nLimited.<\/p>\n

The statement listed others as FSDH Merchant Bank, FBN Merchant Bank,
\nRand Merchant Bank, Coronation Merchant Bank, Sun Trust Bank, Providus
\nBank, Wema Bank, Unity Bank, Heritage Bank, Nova Merchant Bank, Polaris
\nBank, and Keystone Bank.<\/p>\n

Globus Bank, Titan Trust Bank, Takagro Chemicals Ltd, Ahmadu Mahmoud and
\nHandy Capital Ltd make up the list of those that have sofar made
\ncontributions to the Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID)
\nRelief Fund domiciled at the CBN.<\/p>\n

Okorafor noted that the coalition was full of appreciation to the list
\nof good spirited individuals and corporate bodies for hearkening to the
\nclarion call championed by the CBN and the private sector,<\/p>\n

He, however, urged more Nigerians and corporate bodies to key into the
\ncoalition with a view to supporting the fight against the pandemic,
\nstressing that Nigeria could overcome the scourge with all hands on
