President Muhammadu Buhari Sunday called Borno State Governor, Prof.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\n
Babagana Zulum and some leading traditional rulers of Borno State,
\nincluding District Head of Banki and elder brother of late Chief of
\nStaff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari, Zanna Baba Shehu Arjinoma, to
\noffer his condolences.<\/p>\n

In a telephone conversation, the President commiserated with the head of
\nthe family and members;\u00a0 Shehu of Borno, Shehu Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai
\nEl-Kanemi; Shehu of Bama, Shehu Kyari ibn Umar ibn Ibrahim Elkenemi.<\/p>\n

President Buhari described the death of the late Chief of Staff as a
\nshared loss, and urged the government and people of Borno State, members
\nof the family to take solace in the fact that Malam Kyari lived a life
\nworthy of example.<\/p>\n

He said, “Abba was the very best of us. He was made of the stuff that
\nmakes Nigeria great.”<\/p>\n

The President continued to receive messages from far and wide, condoling
\nhim and the nation following the demise of his Chief of Staff.<\/p>\n

Among those who called or sent letters are: former President, General
\nIbrahim Babangida; Governors of Rivers, Nyesom Wike, Enugu, Ifeanyi
\nUgwuanyi, Yobe, Mai Mala Buni, Taraba, Darius Dickson Ishaku and the
\nPresident’s classmates who enrolled in 1953 into the Katsina Middle
\nSchool, through their leader Sen.\u00a0 Abba Ali.<\/p>\n

The President also received messages from the President of the United
\nNations General Assembly, Ambassador (Prof.) Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, the
\nglobal network of Editors, the International Press Institute, IPI, the
\nPresident of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mustapha Isa, the Emir of
\nKano, Aminu Ado Bayero, the patriarch of the Dantata family in Kano,
\nAlhaji Aminu Dantata, the leader of the Izala religious movement in
\nNigeria, Alhaji Bala Lau and Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate, Bala
\nIbn Na’Allah.<\/p>\n

Others are: Nigerian Ambassador to the USA, Justice Sylvanus Adiewere
\nNsofor, Emir of Zamfara, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Attahiru Muhammad
\nAhmad, Senator Umaru Kurfi, Burhan Karabult, Nigeria’s Turkish partner
\nin the Defence Industries Corporation, DICON, Professor James Momoh,
\nVice Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission and
\nrenowned Kano preacher, Ustashi Tijjani Bala Kalarawi.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
