A 22-year old man, Cletus Chisom, was on Monday reportedly stabbed to
\ndeath by a security guard in a market in Onitsha, Anambra State.<\/p>\n
The suspect, Ibuchi Nwoju, a native of Abia state, but reside in
\nOnitsha, allegedly stabbed the deceased on the chest with a knife
\nfollowing an altercation.<\/p>\n
It was gathered the sister to the deceased was at the market with the
\nmother to purchase some items when the suspect confronted her for
\nfailure to put on a facemask.<\/p>\n
The mother was said to have later bought the facemask for the daughter
\nafter the suspect insisted she would only be allowed access to the
\nmarket with a facemask.<\/p>\n
Trouble was said to have started after the girl reportedly rushed home
\nand mobilised her elder brother who came to attack the suspect.<\/p>\n
It was also learnt that it was during the brawl that the suspect drew a
\nknife and stabbed the deceased on the chest, leading to his death.<\/p>\n
Confirming the incident, Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed said the
\nCommissioner of Police, John Abang has ordered for immediate transfer of
\nthe Case to State CID Awka for discreet investigation.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cToday being 4\/5\/2020 at about 8:45am, Police operatives from
\nOkpoko Division in Onitsha arrested a private Security guard attached to
\nCOCA-COLA Market Onitsha, one Ibuchi Nwoju \u2018m\u2019 aged 26 years of Asa
\nvillage, Abia State but reside in Onitsha, Anambra State.<\/p>\n
\u201cSuspect allegedly had an altercation with one Cletus Chisom \u2018m\u2019 aged 22
\nyears of Ekekwe Street Awada and stabbed him with a knife on his chest.<\/p>\n
\u201cConsequently, victim became unconscious and was rushed to Goodnews
\nHospital Onitsha where he was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical
\ndoctor.<\/p>\n
