Another major crisis has again erupted in the main opposition Political<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the inauguration of the
\nnew Ward Executive Committees of the Party nationwide in which accusing
\nfingers are being pointed at its National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus
\nand National Working Committee, NWC, of mismanaging the exercise because
\nof their “personal interest”.<\/p>\n

Findings revealed that the tenures of the occupants, going by the
\nConstitution of the Party, expired by 11 59 pm of Thursday last week and
\nwhile the new Excos were expected to be inaugurated on Friday\u00a0 May 1, in
\nthose states where the Congresses had already been concluded before the
\nlockdown orders occasioned by the Coronvirus pandemic in the country..<\/p>\n

It was gathered that the fresh crisis had sharply divided the NWC with
\nsome members accusing the National Chairman of the Party, Prince
\nSecondus of not implementing the collective decisions of the body to the
\nletter on vital issues for the progress of the Party<\/p>\n

According to one of the aggrieved members of the NWC, “all is not well
\nin the Party right now, our National Chairman is the only one that can
\nexplain the case of the current issues being raised concerning the
\ninauguration of the Ward Excos because we sat as a body and resolved
\nthat the exercise should be put on hold in some places such as Ekiti,
\nKano, Cross Rivers and others where we had some issues to be resolved,
\nbut to the surprise of every one, the Press statement on the decision
\nwas never made public<\/p>\n

“Findings revealed that the non-release of the statement at the
\nappropriate time gave room for manipulations. For instance, in Ekitii
\nState where we have some issues to resolve, two parallel Excos were
\ninaugurated, one on Thursday and the second one on Thursday, we even
\nlearnt they went to court over the matter under this lockdown<\/p>\n

“Our take is that if the National Chairman had allowed the Press
\nstatement as resolved by the NWC, there would not be room for the
\nshortcomings we are witnessing now, am afraid if something is not done
\nurgently to rescue the Party, we should as well forget 2023<\/p>\n

\u201cAnother issue of contention we been battling with is the blank
\nsuspension slammed on some of our law makers in the House of
\nRepresentatives, it was supposed to last for a month but look at where
\nwe are now, we never tabled its extension at any of our meetings, the
\nChairman only extended it by fiat through a Press statement<\/p>\n

“Anyway, some of us kicked against it because of the realities on
\nground, PDP is not the only Party that makes up of the Minority in the
\nHouse, others met and they elected their leaders which were ratified by
\nthe House, we think those who are representing us are doing very
\nexcellent based on their brilliant performances, they are our first
\nEleven, we don’t know why the Chairman is looking at other way<\/p>\n

“The time has come when the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Alhaji
\nAminu Tambuwal, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives to wade
\ninto the matter before the affected law makers will be frustrated to
\ndump the Party<\/p>\n

Efforts to speak with the National Publicity Secretary NPS of the Party,
\nMe Kola Ologbondiyan over matter proved abortive as at the Press time<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
