The Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has<\/div>\n

disowns reports alleging that it had chosen a former Head of State,
\nGeneral Yakubu Gowon, to spearhead the campaign for the emergence of a
\nPresident of Igbo extraction in 2023.<\/p>\n

It also denied report alleging that Ohanaeze leadership is planning to
\nhave an interface with some prominent political figures in the country
\ntowards achieving the same objective.<\/p>\n

National Publicity Secretary, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prince Uche
\nAchi-Okpaga, said in a statement on Wednesday that \u201cOhanaeze Ndigbo,
\ntherefore, distances itself from the infantile hallucinations of the
\ngroup as it does not exist. The apex Igbo group calls on the press and
\nmembers of the public to desist from using the official logo of Ohanaeze
\nNdigbo of a red cap and a feather when writing about or referring to the
\nerrant group as it is a great disservice to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide,
\nso that when Ohanaeze Ndigbo speaks people will know it has spoken.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, \u201cOhanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide hereby informs
\nthe general public that at no time were the aforementioned situations
\never contemplated or was there any meeting at which they were tabled for
\nconsideration, let alone any action being taken or a press statement
\nissued on that.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe purported actions exist only in the imagination of the miscreants
\nand enemies of the Igbo nation who are the purveyors of the unfortunate
\nconcoctions. Ohanaeze Ndigbo reiterates that there is no organisation as
\nOhanaeze Youth Council recognized by Ndigbo and that the misguided
\nso-called leader of the group, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, is a warped,
\negocentric and power-hungry mind who obviously is living in an
\nincontrovertible state of mental delusion.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf nothing else raises doubts about his bifurcated mind, how come not
\nlong ago he was the \u201cpresident\u201d of the group but suddenly metamorphosis
\nto its \u201d president general\u201d. Ohanaeze Ndigbo regrets the unpatriotic
\nacts of some Igbo politicians sponsoring these equally unpatriotic
\nirredentists shamelessly flying the kite for them towards 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt states that if it is the wish of God that a president of Igbo stock
\nshall emerge in 2023, it will not be midwifed by an inconsequential
\ngroup whose only mission and preoccupation is personal aggrandizement
\nand not the collective interest and aspiration of Ndigbo.<\/p>\n

\u201cOhanaeze Ndigbo, once more, calls on prominent Igbo sons and daughters
\nto stand up and call these recalcitrant boys to order, because it could
\nhave gone to court to stop their irreverent behaviour but for the same
\nreason it refused to face other Igbo recalcitrant groups headlong in its
\nmild skirmishes with them\u2014-a father does not quarrel with his children
\nin the public.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
