Nigeria Plc, during the week continued its strategic commitment,
\nconsistent efforts and vigorous voluntary operations to support the
\nNigerian Government and people in the fight to contain the spread of
\ncorona virus in the country.<\/p>\n

Sequel to extending its \u201cFood for our Communities Campaign\u201d to Kaduna
\nand Kano States last week, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc yesterday also sent
\nits hospital palliatives donation team to deliver hospital beds and
\nmattresses to isolation centres in the two States.\u00a0 The Julius Berger
\nteam was led by the company\u2019s Project Coordinator for the
\nAbuja-Kaduna-Kano Road construction project, Mr Ibrahim Yusuf.<\/p>\n

The hospital beds and mattresses donation in Kaduna State took the
\nJulius Berger team to the office of the Secretary to the State
\nGovernment (SSG), Hassan Usman Katsina House, Kawo Kaduna, where the
\nJulius Berger team leader, Ibrahim Yusuf, handed the beds over to the
\nPermanent Secretary, Office of the SSG, Alhaji Bashir Muhammed.<\/p>\n

The Permanent Secretary, on behalf of the Governor and people of Kaduna
\nState, thanked Julius Berger for the support the company offered Kaduna
\nState \u201cat this critical time of the covid-19 pandemic\u201d. Bashir commended
\nthe company for its show of goodwill and asked the Julius Berger team to
\nconvey \u201cthe appreciation of the Kaduna State Government and people to
\nthe Management of Julius Berger for the company\u2019s sensitivity, empathy
\nand magnanimity\u201d.<\/p>\n

From Kaduna, the Julius Berger team travelled to Kano State where the
\ncompany also donated more hospital beds and mattresses to the Aminu Kano
\nTeaching Hospital. The items were handed over by Julius Berger\u2019s team
\nleader Ibrahim Yusuf to the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the
\nhospital, Professor Abdulrahman Abba Sheshe. Yusuf said the donation of
\nthe beds and mattresses to the hospital\u2019s isolation centre was Julius
\nBerger\u2019s sincere way of identifying with the immediate and critical
\nneeds of the hospital and the Kano community. The CMD, speaking on
\nbehalf of the Honourable Minister of health, the Aminu Kano Teaching
\nHospital and the Kano communities, expressed gratitude for the donation
\nby Julius Berger. He requested the Berger team to also convey the
\nhospital\u2019s sincere appreciation to the Management of Julius Berger for
\nthe kindness of the voluntary donation, adding that it will go a long
\nway to assist the work of the frontline health workers in the fight to
\ncontain the spread of the covid-19 pandemic in Kano.
\nJulius Berger which, amongst several other palliatives, has also donated
\nPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) to hospitals in the country, pledged
\nthat its palliatives operations will continue to support the government
\nand communities, until, according to the company\u2019s Managing Director,
\nEngr. Dr Lars Richter, \u201c\u2026the monster of covid-19 is collectively
\ndefeated and dislodged out of our country and communities\u201d.
