\nThe leading aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Edo
\nState 2020 governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has expressed
\ngratitude to the screening committee of the party for carrying out a
\nthorough job.<\/p>\n

Besides, the people of Edo State have trooped out in large numbers to
\ncelebrate the disqualification of the embattled Governor Godwin Obaseki
\nby the All Progressives Congress over unresolved discrepancies in his
\nacademic certificates.<\/p>\n

The Governor claimed to have obtained a Higher School Leaving
\nCertificate from an Institution of Continuing Education in Benin City,
\nhowever, independent checks revealed that such certificate is alien to
\nthe country\u2019s education system and Obaseki, during the party\u2019s
\nscreening, admitted that he never at any point received the certificate.<\/p>\n

His NYSC certificate also raised serious doubts given the alien name it
\ncarries and the governor\u2019s failure to address the inconsistency for
\nyears.<\/p>\n

News of Obaseki\u2019s disqualification elicited wild jubilation on the
\nstreets of Edo State, with some excitement also noted in the Government
\nHouse from aides who are reportedly frustrated with the Governor\u2019s
\nreckless actions and violent inclinations.<\/p>\n

However, in a statement endorsed Mr. John Mayaki, the Director of
\nCommunication and Media of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s Campaign
\nOrganization following the clearance of the former Secretary to the
\nState Government of Edo State to contest in the APC primary later this
\nmonth, he said: “I wish to send my deepest gratitude to all the members
\nof our great party, the All Progressives Congress, for joyful
\ncooperation that led to a seamless but thorough screening exercise.”<\/p>\n

“The progress made today by completing this exercise reveals the true
\nspirit and character of our party premised on a bold insistence on
\nfairness, accountability, and transparency.”<\/p>\n

“On my own part, having passed the screening tests, I want to state my
\nconsistent readiness to take the will of the party as the ultimate,
\nregarding its laws and principles as the supreme guide for the execution
\nof our affairs and assignments.”<\/p>\n

“I urge all the members of our party whose indefatigable commitment,
\nloyalty, and cooperation has led to the success we experienced in recent
\ntimes, to remain focused and committed to our general ambition as a
\nparty, and in the same vein pursuant of our personal political dreams in
\nlight of our progressive philosophy.”<\/p>\n

“As we prepare for the primaries and the election itself, it is time we
\nbind together and close ranks, remembering that the greatest goal is the
\nprogress of Edo State, the moving forward of our great homeland, and the
\nbetterment of life for all of its people”.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
