President Muhammadu Buhari has declared the fighting between his wife,
\nAisha Buhari and his Aide, Sabiu Yusuf \u2018Tunde\u2019 which led to shootings,
\nas a minor occurrence, insisting that the law enforcement agents should
\ndo their job investigating the situation.
\nBuhari also declined to help his wife, Aisha get her aides released from
\npolice detention in Abuja.<\/p>\n

On Thursday a fracas erupted in the Villa following the refusal of Sabiu
\nYusuf \u2018Tunde\u2019 to go on isolation on the orders of the First Lady, after
\nbeing allegedly in contact with Covid-19 patients.<\/p>\n

Gunshots were allegedly fired in the Presidential Villa during the
\nfracas and senior aides of the First Lady arrested and detained by the
\nPolice.<\/p>\n

However, in a statement, the President said the incidence is already
\nbeing investigated and the law be allowed to take it cause.<\/p>\n

The statement signed by Garba Shehu reads:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Presidency wishes to acknowledge concerns expressed by several
\nmembers of the public regarding the recent incident among the occupants
\nof the State House which escalation led to the arrest of some staff by
\nthe police.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is to assure all and everyone that the President and
\nCommander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari, is not, and
\nwas not at any time in any form of danger arising, either from deadly
\ninfections or the reported incident by security personnel which is
\ncurrently under investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis particular incident happened outside the main residence of the
\nPresident.<\/p>\n

\u201cArmed guards and other security personnel assigned to the State House
\nreceive the necessary training of especially weapons handling and where
\nthey come short, their relevant agencies have their rules and
\nregulations to immediately address them.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving authorized the proper investigation to be carried out into this
\nunfortunate incident by the Police, the President has acted in
\ncompliance with the rule of law.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat a minor occurrence is being used by some critics to justify
\nattacks on the government and the person of President Muhammadu Buhari
\nbeggars belief.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this particular instance, the President says the law should be
\nallowed to take its course.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
