\nProgramme<\/p>\n
Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, in collaboration with the Private Sector Health
\nAlliance of Nigeria (PSHAN) has unveiled a new initiative geared towards
\nsignificantly improving Nigeria\u2019s healthcare system at the grassroots
\nlevel.<\/p>\n
The innovative strategy, in furtherance of a vision from an earlier
\nstakeholders’ roundtable, entails delivering one Primary Healthcare
\nCentre (PHC) in each of Nigeria\u2019s 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) at
\nglobal standards.<\/p>\n
Under this private sector driven initiative, universal health access
\nwill be provided for low-income citizens residing in rural and urban
\nareas through the Adopt-a-Health Facility Programme (ADHFP).<\/p>\n
ADHFP, according to a release issued by the CEO of PSHAN, Mr. Sonny
\nNwarisi, will be sponsored by a group of Angel Investors and other
\ninstitutions. These \u201cAngels\u201d will each take responsibility for one or
\nmore PHCs – they will build and operate the PHCs for the period of
\nadoption under strict rules and guidelines. The ADHFP is a multi-impact
\ninitiative with several benefits including Saving lives, Improvement in
\nhealth outcomes, Job creation, and Gender empowerment<\/p>\n
Mr. Aig-Imoukhuede and PSHAN recently initiated the ADHFP design phase
\nwhich will be handled by Vesta Healthcare Partners, a global healthcare
\nconsultancy firm.<\/p>\n
This consultancy engagement is expected to deliver key program
\ncomponents such as Legal and Regulatory Framework, PPP Framework, PHC
\nfacility and management standards, Financing Arrangements, Governance
\nArrangements, Supply Chain Management, and Technology & Systems.<\/p>\n
The design phase will involve the active participation of notable
\ndevelopment-focused organizations including Global Citizen, ABCHealth,
\nBill & Melinda Gates Foundation, United Nations Economic Commission for
\nAfrica, World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), MTN Nigeria
\nPlc, Dangote Group, Zenith Bank, Access Bank, Stanbic-IBTC Bank, PwC,
\nCisco, Ford Foundation, Nigerian Stock Exchange, and Flying Doctors
\nNigeria.<\/p>\n
Others include Africa Practice, Cedar Advisory Partners, GBCHealth,
\nHealth Federation of Nigeria, Health Law, Eti-Osa Local Government, JNC
\nInternational Ltd, Johnson & Johnson, Justice in Healthcare, Lagos State
\nGovernment, MSD for Mothers, Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), ONE
\nCampaign, PharmAccess Foundation, Women-At-Risk International Foundation
\nas well as the Lagos State Government and the SSA to the President on
