Access Bank Plc has unveiled the second edition of its Womenpreneur<\/div>\n
\n
Pitch-a-ton programme, aimed at supporting female entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Africa 2020 Campaign was designed to
\nprovide female-owned businesses across Africa an opportunity to access
\nto finance and world-class business training as well as mentoring
\nopportunities.<\/p>\n

According to the bank, the programme was designed to create an enabling
\nenvironment for female entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the launch of the second edition of this initiative, Group
\nHead W Initiative, Ayona Trimnell, was quoted to have said, \u201cAccess Bank
\nhas been a leading advocate for women\u2019s economic empowerment in Nigeria
\nand this is the key motivation for the \u2018W\u2019 Initiative which caters to
\nthe women economy particularly in the areas of capacity building and
\ncreating networking opportunities for women.\u201d<\/p>\n

She further stated that the Pitch-a-ton is an expansion of the
\nWomenpreneur Business Workshop, under the Bank\u2019s women proposition, the
\nW Initiative.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe launched the Pitch-a-ton initiative last year in line with our value
\nproposition as the number one bank of choice for women in Nigeria, and
\nwe got a tremendous amount of applications with innovative business
\nideas. This year we want to do more and we want to reach out to more
\nfemale entrepreneurs not just in Nigeria but across Africa.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a responsible financial institution with a huge presence in other
\nAfrican countries, we want to give the same opportunity to other female
\nentrepreneurs in Ghana, Rwanda, and Zambia as well as Sierra Leone,
\nMozambique, Gambia, & Congo to apply and participate in this year\u2019s
\nedition of the programme,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

The programme would provide up to N9 million financial grant and a
\nunique capacity building program aimed at empowering women
\nentrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

The programme is designed as a 3-month period incorporating pitching
\nsessions and 8 weeks of mini-MBA training in collaboration with the IFC.
\nInterested persons from Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, and Rwanda as well as
\nwith extension to Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Gambia, & Congo who meet the
\ncriteria are required to fill an online application.<\/p>\n

The 500 candidates selected from this pool would then send in a 60
\nseconds video pitch which would be screened by a credible panel of
\nbusiness experts to select fifty finalists.<\/p>\n

As part of the graduation requirements, the 50 finalists will pitch
\ntheir businesses, infusing learnings from the mini-MBA and will stand an
\nopportunity to win financial grants up to N5 million.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
