\nservices group, is pleased to announce the appointments of Ayoku Liadi
\nand Oliver Alawuba as Deputy Managing Directors in charge of UBA\u2019s
\nNigeria and Africa businesses, respectively.<\/p>\n
The creation of the new positions, reporting to Group CEO, Kennedy
\nUzoka, represents further strategic recognition of the growth of UBA\u2019s
\npan-African business, now representing in excess of 40% of Group
\nrevenue, and the critical importance of Nigeria, the Group\u2019s largest
\nmarket.\u00a0 Combined with UBA\u2019s unique International Business, operating
\nfrom New York, London and Paris, UBA Africa and Nigeria, offer an
\nunparalleled service offering to clients across Africa and globally.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the appointments, Group Chairman Tony O. Elumelu said:

Oliver Alawuba has worked with the UBA Group for almost 20 years and was
\nappointed in January 2020, CEO of the Group\u2019s Africa operations.
\nOliver\u2019s knowledge of UBA\u2019s business in Africa is unrivaled.\u00a0 He
\npreviously held the role of CEO of UBA in Ghana and more recently, as
\nRegional CEO for UBA in Anglophone Africa.<\/p>\n
Ayo Liadi joined the UBA Group in 2014 and was appointed the Executive
\nDirector of Lagos and West bank in Nigeria, two years later.\u00a0 Ayo is
\nwidely recognised for his innovation in driving business development.<\/p>\n
Also announced today by the UBA Group Board, was the retirement from the
\nBoard with effect from August 01, 2020, of Dan Okeke who has been with
\nthe UBA Group for 22 years.\u00a0 Dan served on the board as an Executive
\nDirector for three terms and a total of nine years.\u00a0 According to the
\nGroup Chairman, \u2018Dan was born for UBA.\u00a0 He has worked tirelessly for the
\nGroup and achieved so much in the past two decades.\u00a0 We will miss him,
\nbut he will still be very much around us\u2019.<\/p>\n
