\u2026Urges APC To Desist from Fabrications<\/p>\n
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) mocks the All Progressives Congress
\n(APC) for plotting to use fabrications in a section of the media to
\narm-twist the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to
\nmanipulate the Edo state governorship election for their rejected
\ncandidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu.<\/p>\n
According to a statement by Kola Ologbondiyan, “the party said that in
\nsponsoring fake reports that PDP leaders were putting pressure on INEC
\nChairman, Prof. Yakubu Mahmood, on the Edo election, the APC has further
\nexposed its hopelessness over their rejection by the Edo people and now
\nseeks to blackmail the Commission.<\/p>\n
“Whereas we understand APC\u2019s despondency over the soaring popularity of
\nour party and candidate, Governor Godwin Obaseki, the APC is worsening
\nits woes by sponsoring fabrications against the expressed will of the
\npeople of Edo state to re-elect Governor Obaseki in the September
\nelection.<\/p>\n
“The APC, by now, should know that attempting to rig, by any way
\nwhatsoever, will surely be met with stiff resistance and dire
\nconsequences from the people.<\/p>\n
“Our party counsels the APC to blame nobody but themselves for having a
\ndiscredited nomination process and being stuck with a blighted
\ncandidate, who has now become a symbol of a direct affront by corrupt
\npolitical godfathers and cabal to the will, ability and liberty of the
\npeople of Edo state to chose their own leader.<\/p>\n
“The APC should blame themselves for presenting a candidate who was
\nexposed by their party\u2019s former National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, as
\na person of questionable character, a treasury looter, acid bather,
\nrusticated student; a politician, who is only good for \u201cnight meetings\u201d
\nand unfit to hold office as governor of Edo state.<\/p>\n
“The APC should also hold\u00a0 Oshiomhole responsible for indicting its
\ncandidate as a “fake pastor” that started carrying the Holy Bible
\nbecause he could not practice as a barrister.<\/p>\n
“It is indeed disgraceful that 73 days to the election, all the APC has
\nto offer is blackmail against our leaders, after its plans to derail the
\nelection has been exposed.<\/p>\n
“It is common knowledge among Nigerians that characters, such as
\n\u2018gandollar\u2019, the killers in the Kogi election as well as manipulators in
\nthe Imo election, being paraded by the APC as the face of their campaign
\nin Edo state, were foisted into office through the rigging,
\nbloodletting, and manipulation of election results.<\/p>\n
“Nigerians already know how the \u201cGandollar\u201d election was driven by
\nmercenaries from neighboring countries who disrupted electoral processes
\nand inflicted injuries and pain on our compatriots.<\/p>\n
“Nigerians can also recall how, in the Kogi election last year, gunmen
\nand a police helicopter were used to chase away voters, while an
\ninnocent woman, Salome Abuh, was killed by APC thugs in celebration of
\ntheir bloodstained electoral conquest in the worst election in our
\npolitical history as a nation.<\/p>\n
“The public has not also forgotten how an individual, who came a distant
\nfourth in the Imo state governorship election, suddenly became the
\nwinner.<\/p>\n
“The PDP notes that it is only a discredited and rejected party like the
\nAPC that will enlist the services of known election manipulators, who
\nhave now started their assignment by sponsoring fake reports, to run its
\ncampaign.<\/p>\n
“Our party cautions the APC to desist from their plots to rig the Edo
\nelection as the people of Edo will firmly resist them. The APC should
\nrather blame themselves for their woes and get ready to accept their
\ninevitable crushing defeat at the poll.<\/p>\n
“Furthermore, the PDP counsels INEC to note the dangerous plots of the
\nAPC and insulate itself from their shenanigans as the tide in this
