Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, has
\nissued the Minister of Niger Delta, Senator Godswill Akpabio, a 48-hour
\nultimatum to name lawmakers that received contracts from the Niger Delta
\nDevelopment Commission.<\/p>\n
Akpabio had before the House Committee probing financial
\nmisappropriation in the NDDC on Monday, accused Lawmakers of collecting
\nover 60 percent of contracts in the agency.<\/p>\n
While speaking at the floor of the House on Tuesday, Gbajabiamila chided
\nAkpabio, saying he came to deceive the lawmakers.<\/p>\n
Gbajabiamila noted that Akpabio must reveal the names of the lawmaker
\nwithin 48-hours or risk the wrath of the House.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cI am giving the minister 24 to 48 hours to publish the names,
\nthe contracts, the companies, date, amount, and the projects.<\/p>\n
\u201cFailing which, this house will bring the full wrath of the house on
\nhim. It is important that we set this record straight.<\/p>\n
“The minister owes it to himself, to the committee, to people of Niger
\nDelta, and the country to publish it. I will reserve my judgment. The
\nminister came there to play games, but we do not play games here.”<\/p>\n
Recall that Honourable Thomas Ereyi-Tobi, who presided over the hearing
\non Monday, accused Akpabio of misleading the parliament and the public.<\/p>\n
