The first Ogun State Transportation Master Plan, when ready, will boost<\/div>\n
\n
the industrial drive of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, open
\nup more investments, as well as consolidate the State’s position as the
\nmost industrialised in Nigeria.The Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo
\nLonge stated this in Abeokuta during an interview with journalists on
\nthe inauguration of the Steering Committee on the State Transportation
\nMaster Plan by Governor Dapo Abiodun, saying despite economic
\nchallenges, the government was committed to developing the
\ntransportation sector in order to meet the rapid industrial growth,
\nthereby enhancing the socio-economic development of the State.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Longe, who serves as one of the Committee members, added that the
\nCommittee would ensure strict compliance with the State’s transportation
\nlaws, reduce accident’s rate, as well as ensure all other means of
\ntransportation previously under-utilized were given adequate attention,
\nthereby creating more job opportunities for the unemployed.<\/p>\n

She noted that the government would not relent at improving the State’s
\ninfrastructure, stating that, “since the onset of this administration,
\nabout 90 kilometers of roads have either been completed or undergoing
\nconstruction, while over 60 kilometers of roads have been
\nrehabilitated”.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner stated that the present administration was engaging the
\nFederal Government on the construction of different federal roads,
\nincluding roads within the Agbara axis, to aid the industrial
\ndevelopment in the area, pointing out that government had also
\nharmonized taxes to address allegations of multiple taxations, as well
\nas prosecution of illegal tax collectors through its mobile courts.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Longe said the State government’s effort at adequately equipping
\nthe security forces through the Security Trust Fund had improved the
\nsecurity of lives and property in the State, lauding the private sector
\nfor supporting the Prince Abiodun’s administration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
