The Coalition for Revolution has released details and modalities for the
\n#RevolutionNow protest in Lagos on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The demonstration tagged national day of action, will also take place
\nsimultaneously across major cities in Nigeria in commemoration of the
\nfirst anniversary of the #RevolutionNow Movement, which held on August
\n5, 2019 and saw citizens take to the streets in a peaceful manner to
\ndemand better governance from the administration of President Muhammadu
\nBuhari.<\/p>\n
In a statement by CORE on Tuesday signed by Baba Aye and Gbenga
\nKomolafe, Co-conveners of the movement, the protest would be taking off
\nfrom two main points in Lagos.<\/p>\n
The statement reads, \u201cTake-off point: Adeniyi Jones Junction, Ikeja,
\ntake-off time: 8:00am prompt.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlease take note that similar protests will also take place in cities,
\ntowns and communities nationwide under strict discipline and decorum.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Victoria Island protest will also start by 8:00am at the corner of
\nPalms Mall, Oniru, on the same day.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn August 5, 2019, the Coalition for Revolution launched a nationwide
\ncampaign against massive corruption, rising unemployment and worsening
\nmisery of the poor masses and demanded greater accountability in the
\nmanagement of public resources in order to engender balanced and
\nsocially just development.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Federal Government responded by unleashing unprecedented
\nrepression, incarceration of some leaders of the movement, and
\nbrutalisation of not less than 50 CORE activists all over the country
\nduring the protests.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince then, the situation in the country for most working people keeps
\ngetting worse.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile poverty continues to increase for the many, the rate of stealing
\nof monies that could be used to improve lives and livelihoods keeps
\naccelerating, on a daily basis.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo mark the one year of the #RevolutionNow Movement and relaunch the
\ncampaign for an end to unabating looting of public resources and
\nrevamping of the social and economic fabric of our country, the
\nCoalition for Revolution will stage a massive demonstration of the
