bitterness in their minds against others hardly make progress.<\/p>\n

He has, therefore, declared that his success in politics and governance
\nis because he carries no grudge against anybody.<\/p>\n

Governor Wike was speaking when the people of Akpabu and Itu
\ncommunities, led by their traditional and political leaders, paid him a
\ncourtesy visit at Government House,\u00a0 Port Harcourt.<\/p>\n

Governor Wike said during his second term inauguration, he asked for
\nforgiveness from those he offended and also promised to forgive those
\nthat hurt him.<\/p>\n

Today, he said, Dr. Chidi Lloyd has publicly expressed regret of his
\nrole in the 2013 crisis at the State House of Assembly and apologised.<\/p>\n

Governor Wike stated that he has forgiven Dr.\u00a0 Lloyd because he is a
\nChristian and those who became victims of that act have also consented.<\/p>\n

“Forgiveness is key for every Christian. God has forgiven me,\u00a0 why can’t
\nI forgive. We have also met with Hon. Michael Chinda and others, we got
\ntheir approval for reconciliation.<\/p>\n

“I love to attract people to our party because I am not a greedy
\npolitician. I believe that the more the merrier. I will do what is in
\nthe best interest of the people and the party.<\/p>\n

“Politics of progress does not undermine the importance of friendship. I
\nbelieve that we must forget yesterday,\u00a0 put ourselves together for a
\nbetter tomorrow,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Governor also assured that he would complete the Akpabu-Itu Road and
\nthe electrification of the communities.<\/p>\n

“When we go to Akpabu during electioneering campaigns, you cannot move
\nfrom there to Omudioga community even though they are in the same ward
\ndue to the bad road network.\u00a0 I have promised to reconstruct the road
\nand restore electricity.<\/p>\n

” We will complete those projects within the life span of this tenure.
\nPolitics is about dividends of democracy,” he stated.<\/p>\n

Governor Wike also upgraded the traditional stool of the traditional
\nruler of Akpabu, Eze Godwin Chukwuemeka Ordu from third class to second
\nclass.<\/p>\n

Former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) Dr. Chidi Lloyd
\nexpressed regret of his role in the crisis at the State House of
\nAssembly on the 9th of July 2013 and apologised to the people of the
\nState and Hon. Michael Chinda.<\/p>\n

Dr.\u00a0 Lloyd said he has learned how to be benevolent in politics among
\nother things from Governor Wike.<\/p>\n

He declared that henceforth,\u00a0 he and members of his community would work
\nfor the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).<\/p>\n

Rivers State Chairman of PDP, Ambassador Desmond Akawor who received Dr.
\nChidi Lloyd into the Party noted that he is an asset.<\/p>\n

He thanked Governor Wike for being an excellent statesman who has made
\nit easy for the party to retain its foothold in Akpabo and Itu
\ncommunities.<\/p>\n

The paramount ruler of Akpabu and Itu communities, Eze Godwin
\nChukwuemeka Ordu thanked Governor Wike for the projects and pledged that
\nwith their son, Dr.\u00a0 Lloyd,\u00a0 they would ensure the success of PDP in the
\ncommunities.<\/p>\n

Elder Paul Wonodi noted with pleasure the benevolence and forgiving
\nnature of the Governor which has been demonstrated in reconciling with
\nDr. Chidi Lloyd.<\/p>\n

He said the party would benefit from the versatility of Dr.\u00a0 Lloyd and
\nassured that they would work to secure more success for the party.<\/p>\n

Chief Sergent Awuse noted that\u00a0 Governor Wike is making unimpeded
\nprogress in politics because he mends fences easily.<\/p>\n

According to him, because the Governor is a man who loves peace,\u00a0 he has
\ncontinued to achieve greater heights.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
