Nigerians that the statutory entry requirements into the Nigeria Police
\nForce remain sacrosanct and would be thoroughly followed in the ongoing
\nPolice recruitment screening exercise.<\/p>\n

According to a statement signed by Force Spokesman,DCP Frank Mba, “the
\nIGP’s reassurance became necessary following news reports making the
\nrounds in some sections of the media that the IGP has suspended the
\nentry requirement for candidates who applied to join the Nigeria Police
\nForce as Police constables in the ongoing recruitment screening
\nexercise.<\/p>\n

“The IGP, while noting that no one has the powers to alter the
\nconditions for recruitment into the Force \u2013 these, having been clearly
\nprovided for in Sections 71 \u2013 75 and other relevant sections of the
\nPolice Act and Regulations – stated that all candidates who successfully
\ncompleted the online recruitment registration exercise were invited for
\nphysical and credential screening from 24th August 2020 to 6th September
\n2020 at various venues in States across the Federation and the FCT.<\/p>\n

“The screening Officers have been directed to allow all the applicants
\nto participate in the exercise and to recommend their suitability or
\notherwise in the spirit of transparency, accountability, and fair
\nhearing using the already established benchmarks as contained in the
\nAct.<\/p>\n

“The IGP has commended the Screening Officers for the hitch-free
\ntake-off of the screening exercise at various locations nationwide. He
\ncalls on them to uphold a high level of professionalism and observe
\nnecessary caution in line with the COVID-19 prevention regulations
\nthroughout the period of the exercise.<\/p>\n

“Meanwhile, as part of conscious efforts to deepen the integrity of the
\nrecruitment process, observers and monitors from the Ministry of Police
\nAffairs, the Police Service Commission, and the Federal Character
\nCommission have been invited to provide oversights toward ensuring a
\ncredible exercise.”<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
