{"id":7552,"date":"2012-12-17T18:03:35","date_gmt":"2012-12-17T17:03:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=7552"},"modified":"2012-12-17T18:03:35","modified_gmt":"2012-12-17T17:03:35","slug":"yakowa-govs-call-for-presidential-probe-panel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/yakowa-govs-call-for-presidential-probe-panel\/","title":{"rendered":"Yakowa: Govs Call For Presidential Probe Panel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rising from an emergency meeting on Monday, the Nigeria Governors&#8217; Forum (NGF),\u00a0 said they would engage a consultant to be actively involved in Presidential Probe into the helicopter crash that killed late Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Yakowa and former National Security Adviser (NSA), Andrew Azazi .<\/p>\n<p>Barely hours after the helicopter crash President Goodluck Jonathan had directed for an investigation to be conducted into the cause of the crash.<\/p>\n<p>But in a communique read by their chairman and Governor of Rivers States, Chibuike Amaechi, the forum challenged President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure that the investigation is open and transparent.<\/p>\n<p>The governors, after a meeting which stretched for four hours, moved to Kaduna State to commiserate with the family of the late governor and people of Kaduna State.<\/p>\n<p>Amaechi said &#8220;Members support the directive of the president for a thorough investigation into the immediate and remote causes of the helicopter crash and calls for transparency and openness in the process.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Forum further resolved to engage a consultant to participate in the investigation process or serve as an observer.<\/p>\n<p>He reiterated the forum&#8217;s condolence to theose affected thus: &#8220;Forum condoles the President, the Vice President, the Government and the People of Bayelsa and Kaduna States.
