The Emir of Bauchi State, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu says the
\npragmatic approach to governance adopted by the Rivers State Governor,
\nNyesom Ezenwo Wike has endeared him to many Nigerians.<\/p>\n
The Emir made the assertion when the Bauchi State Governor,\u00a0 Senator
\nBala Mohammed led Governor Wike on a courtesy visit to the Emir’s
\nPalace.<\/p>\n
Governor Wike was on a one-day visit to Bauchi state to flag-off the
\nconstruction of two roads in the capital city of the State.<\/p>\n
Alhaji Adamu noted the commitment with which Governor Wike has served
\nthe interest of his state and passionately improved the socio-economic
\nwelfare of the people.<\/p>\n
“I have watched the unconscious cultivation of the bond of fraternity
\nand friendship between Governor Nyesom Wike and Senator Bala Mohammed.<\/p>\n
“The two of you are considered by many Nigerians as the perfect partners
\nin progress. Indeed,\u00a0 you are working separately in your States and
\nattracting the admiration of your citizens.<\/p>\n
“Without fear of contradiction,\u00a0 Governor Wike has enjoyed the
\nadmiration of many because of his practical and pragmatic approach to
\nlife and politics. You have a heart that’s always willing to excel.<\/p>\n
“I will also request you to appreciate Senator Bala Mohammed because, in
\none year,\u00a0 we have seen a record of performance by the way he has
\nchanged the face of the State.<\/p>\n
“As custodians of tradition and values,\u00a0 we are open to encouraging
\nthose in public office who are performing,” he said.<\/p>\n
The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike appealed to the royal
\nfather to always find joy counseling the Governor and other political
\nrepresentatives to offer the best to the people.<\/p>\n
He said they do not know it all and often, such advice can prevent a
\ngrievous error if the responsibility is not pushed aside because of the
\nfear that political colouration could be given to such gestures.<\/p>\n
“I plead with you to call your son to yourself and correct him when it
\nis needful.\u00a0 He will quickly retrace his steps with your fatherly
\nadvice. Don’t see him going wrong,\u00a0 and you say it’s not my business,
\nI’m not a politician.<\/p>\n
“When I was invited here, I accepted because I was coming to do
\nsomething that will make life more meaningful,\u00a0 something that will
\nbring development to the people of Bauchi state.\u00a0 That is the kind of
\nthing I associate with.<\/p>\n
“Your Governor has shown that the interest of the people of Bauchi state
\nis his interest. Let me tell you clearly,\u00a0 on behalf of the people of
\nRivers State and myself, we are happy to identify and associate
\nourselves with the Governor of Bauchi state.<\/p>\n
“And I can tell you that by the grace of God,\u00a0 this relationship will
\ncontinue to grow,” he stated.<\/p>\n
On his part,\u00a0 the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed
\ndescribed Governor Wike as one of the best performing Governors in the
\ncountry.<\/p>\n
He said Governor Wike is a bridge-builder who makes history with his
\nstyle of governance and contributes tirelessly to the development of
\nNigeria.<\/p>\n
“The Rivers State Governor is one of those persons who is making
\nhistory,\u00a0 developing Nigeria and building bridges. He is one of the best
\nperforming governors. He is deepening stakeholding and I have learned so
\nmuch from him.<\/p>\n
“I know him as a man who carries his people along. A very generous,
\nhighly principled, and passionate person. He is somebody who believes in
\nthe corporate existence of Nigeria.<\/p>\n
“He is called Mr. Projects because he opens new frontiers in which he
\nuses projects and programmes to improve the quality of life of his
\npeople.<\/p>\n
“He has respect for you and for the traditional institution. He is here
\nbecause he cannot be in Bauchi and fail to pay his respect to you.
\nThereafter, he will be going to symbolically flag-off some projects that
\ncan improve movement, and ease the turn around time for doing
\nbusinesses.<\/p>\n
“I feel there is nobody more important, and more suitable to come and
\nperform this symbolic programme other than Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike,”
