{"id":75934,"date":"2020-09-25T18:43:50","date_gmt":"2020-09-25T17:43:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=75934"},"modified":"2020-09-25T18:43:50","modified_gmt":"2020-09-25T17:43:50","slug":"el-rufai-ssg-may-clash-over-new-emir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/el-rufai-ssg-may-clash-over-new-emir\/","title":{"rendered":"El-rufai, SSG May Clash over New Emir"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Strong indications have emerged that Governor Nasir El-rufai, of Kaduna State \u00a0and Balarabe Abbas Lawal, the secretary to the Kaduna State government, may fall out over who becomes the Emir of Zaria following the death of Emir Shehu Idris, who died recently, Pointblanknews.com learned.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Governor El-rufai is reportedly aiming at defying the outcome of an election of a new Emir where three out of five kingmakers voted Bashari Aminu, to announce Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, who scored zero.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>For his part, the Secretary to the State Government is working to outsmart Gov. El-rufai and rooting for Munir Jafaru who scored just one vote.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The meeting recently, to elect a new Emir was held according to the chieftaincy laws of Kaduna State. All five kingmakers were present and each casted their votes.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Upon realization that his candidate was losing, the governor ordered fresh elections which turned out the same way; seeing his candidate lose, he is now trying to name someone else the Emir, a source familiar with the development told Pointblanknews.com.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Other people who participated in the election include: Aminu Shehu Idris, Turakin Zazzau, 1 vote; Munirr Jafaru, Yariman Zazzau, 1 vote; and Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, Magajin Garin Zazzau, 0 vote.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The SSG to Kaduna State government, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Attorney General of the State and Commissioner for Justice, Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State, Director DSS, Kaduna State, all observed the process.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, Bashari is the son of late Emir of Zazzau, Aminu, who died in 1973 and was succeeded by the late Alhaji Shehu Idris.
