\nThe Board of Directors of Fidelity Bank Plc has announced the
\nappointment of Engr. Henry Ikem Obih as an Independent Non-Executive
\nDirector with effect from September 21, 2020, and Dr. Kenneth Onyewuchi
\nOpara as an Executive Director.<\/p>\n

The appointments have been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria
\n(CBN).<\/p>\n

Dr. Opara will assume office as the Executive Director in charge of the
\nLagos & South West Directorate on January 1, 2021, taking over
\nleadership of the Directorate from Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe who was
\nrecently appointed Managing Director\/CEO – Designate.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe will succeed Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo who retires as
\nManaging Director\/CEO on December 31, 2020, upon the completion of his
\ncontract tenure in line with the internal policies of the Bank.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth appointments are in furtherance of our positioning for the next
\ngrowth phase.\u00a0 We welcome Henry and Ken to the Board and believe they
\nwill make significant contributions that will sustain the performance
\ntrajectory of the Bank in line with our strategic intent\u201d said Mr.
\nMustafa Chike-Obi, Chairman, Board of Directors, Fidelity Bank Plc.<\/p>\n

Engr. Obih was the Group Executive Director\/Chief Operating Officer
\n(GED\/COO), Downstream, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)
\nuntil his retirement in 2019 and was subsequently appointed to the Board
\nof Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) in July 2020.<\/p>\n

He joins the Board of Fidelity Bank Plc with significant
\ncross-functional work experience and exposure spanning over three (3)
\ndecades, across different climes including Africa, Europe, Asia and the
\nAmericas. He has extensive experience in project and performance
\nmanagement, manufacturing and operations management, sales and
\nmarketing, strategy and business planning\/analysis, business
\ndevelopment\/re-engineering, general management, corporate governance and
\nrisk management.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining NNPC as GED\/COO in 2016, Engr. Obih had a stellar
\n22-year career at Mobil Oil Nigeria (ExxonMobil Nigeria Downstream) and
\nheld several high-profile positions in the company including being
\nExecutive Director, Retail and Executive Director, Operations, Customer
\nService and Logistics.<\/p>\n

His recent leadership roles include board positions at Nigeria Gas
\nMarketing Company Limited, Pipelines and Products Marketing Company
\nLimited, NNPC Retail Limited, NIDAS Marine Limited (a subsidiary of NNPC
\nin joint venture with Daewoo Industries South Korea), NIKORMA Limited (a
\nsubsidiary of NNPC in joint venture with Hyundai Heavy Industries South
\nKorea) and Duke Oil Company Inc.<\/p>\n

Engr. Obih holds a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the
\nUniversity of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and an MBA in Financial Management
\nfrom the University of Bradford, Yorkshire, England.<\/p>\n

His professional affiliations include membership of the Institute of
\nDirectors, Society for Corporate Governance and Council for the
\nRegulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN); Nigerian Institution of
\nMechanical Engineers; Institute of Credit Administration and Fellow of
\nthe Nigerian Society of Engineers.<\/p>\n

He has attended executive programs in leadership, strategy, finance,
\ncorporate governance, and business\u00a0 management at some of the world\u2019s
\nleading institutions including Columbia Business School, New York,
\nMassachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), IMD Lausanne, Switzerland,
\nLondon Business School and Lagos Business School, Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Dr. Opara who currently serves as General Manager\/Regional Bank Head,
\nIkeja Region, has over 29 years\u2019 experience in banking and worked at
\nvarious financial institutions including legacy Omega Bank Plc,
\nEquatorial Trust Bank Plc and Manny Bank Plc, before joining Fidelity
\nBank Plc in 2006, following its merger with Manny Bank Plc.<\/p>\n

He has core-banking experience in diverse areas of banking including
\nCredit, Treasury, Retail, Consumer and Commercial Banking, International
\nOperations and Corporate Banking and has held senior management
\npositions in the industry including Divisional Head, Managed SMEs,
\nMultilateral Agencies & Trade Missions; Division Head, SMEs, Electronic
\n& Consumer Banking; Head, Private & Consumer Banking, Head, Affinity
\nBanking & Corporate Consumer Banking; and Head Consumer &\u00a0 Commercial
\nBanking.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe appointment of Ken is well deserved and in line with our succession
\nplanning policy. He has made significant contributions to the growth of
\nthe Region as well as the various Divisions he has headed in the Bank\u201d
\nsaid Fidelity Bank\u2019s MD\/CEO, Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo.<\/p>\n

Dr. Opara has attended executive management programs at Harvard Business
\nSchool, Kellogg School of Management, Wharton, INSEAD and Lagos Business
\nSchool amongst others.\u00a0 He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of
\nBankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and an active member of the Institute\u2019s
\nGoverning Council, where he currently serves as 1st Vice President,
\nhaving previously served as 2nd Vice President and National Treasurer of
\nthe Institute.<\/p>\n

He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Finance and Master of
\nBusiness Administration (MBA) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and
\na Ph.D. in Credit Management from International University of Panama.<\/p><\/div>\n
