#FixPolitics has condemned the shooting of peaceful protesters across<\/div>\n

the nation on Tuesday, resulting in the reported death of citizens with
\nmany more wounded.<\/p>\n

The group, therefore, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately
\nrestrain the soldiers and police deployed against the defenceless
\nprotesters exercising their civic rights.<\/p>\n

It also demanded justice for victims of the murder of citizens
\nexercising their constitutional rights of freedom of expression in a
\ndemocracy.<\/p>\n

#FixPolitics stated this on Wednesday, in furtherance to its earlier
\ncall, on Monday, that the Federal Government should listen to the
\n#EndSARS protesters, ensure peace and justice prevail and act on their
\ndemands.<\/p>\n

In a statement signed by its Spokesperson, Mr. Ozioma Ubabukoh, and
\nendorsed by its 120 Work Study Group members, #FixPolitics said the use
\nof military and\/or police by the Nigerian government to intimidate and
\nsuppress the #EndSARS protesters was morally disgraceful and a shocking
\nviolation of the Constitution.<\/p>\n

“We reiterate our call on the President and Commander-in-Chief to
\nrestrain the military and focus on addressing the immediate measures
\nthey have demanded and are still demanding.<\/p>\n

“We ask the government to respond with sincerity to the demands,
\nincluding genuine police reforms, of the protesters who are the youth of
\nNigeria,” the statement read.<\/p>\n

The #FixPolitics, a research-based citizen collective, made up of
\nNigerians across various demographic groups and professional endeavours,
\nadded that the use of military or police force would not only create
\ntension, “but will also hamper the process to a peaceful resolution.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
