Following the EndSARS protests in Abia state, the state Police Command
\nhave arrested a 70- year old man and 20 other suspects over alleged
\nkillings, looting, and burning of property<\/p>\n
Parading the suspects, the State Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Janet
\nAgbede disclosed that the protesters, who killed two policemen in the
\nstate, beheaded and burnt one of them to ashes.<\/p>\n
Agbede said one FNC rifle with 12 rounds of live ammunition was
\nrecovered from the home of the 70-year old man identified as Umunna Eze.<\/p>\n
She explained that while the military and police repelled the hoodlums
\nfrom attacking the Umuahia Correctional Centre, the looted and burnt the
\npolice D7 unit at the old Zone 6 Annex, along Omoba road, Aba.<\/p>\n
The CP said the hoodlums further destroyed five banks, one high Court,
\none Magistrate Court, and Aba Town Hall while the church inside the
\ncomplex was also razed.<\/p>\n
Other properties destroyed include the Abia State Fire service station
\nat Aba, 102 government and privately owned vehicles, street lights in
\nAba and Umuahia as well as the dislodging of traders at Onions, Yam, and
\nWater Melon Markets in Aba.<\/p>\n
While refuting reports that Fulani people are regrouping for an attack
\non Abia people, the CP gave the hoodlums a week to return the looted
