The Governing Board, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has
\napproved the promotion of 99 Command Officers.<\/p>\n
NDLEA Head of Public Affairs, Mr Jonah Achema said this in a statement
\non Monday in Abuja.<\/p>\n
Achema said that the promotion which was released on Saturday included
\nthat of Mr. Sunday Nbona who rose to Deputy Commander General of
\nNarcotics (DCGN) from Assistant Commander General of Narcotics (ACGN).<\/p>\n
\u201cNbona who was the Chief of Staff to NDLEA Chairman and Director of
\nProsecution and Legal Services became the first Commander of the Agency
\nto be promoted to the rank of DCGN.<\/p>\n
\u201cOthers promoted are five Commanders of Narcotics (CN) who are now ACGN,
\nwhile 33 Deputy Commanders of Narcotics (DCN) are now Commanders of
\nNarcotics.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlso, 60 Assistant Commanders of Narcotics, (ACN) were promoted to the
\nrank of Deputy Commander of Narcotics; this brings the total number of
\nofficers promoted to 99,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
Achema said that the NDLEA Chairman, retired Col. Muhammad Abdallah
\nwhile congratulating the officers, urged them to continue to distinguish
\nthemselves.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe said that the promotion was in recognition of their outstanding
\nperformance over the years.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is expected that it will spur them to put in their best in the
\nservice of the agency and the nation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis exercise marks the final lap of the comprehensive promotion
\nexercise commenced by the agency two years ago,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
NAN reports that at the commencement of the promotion in 2018, six
\nCommanders of Narcotics (CN) were promoted to the rank of ACGN while
\nfive others were elevated to CN.<\/p>\n
A total of 1, 311 officers including those in rank and file were
\npromoted to their next ranks, while 2, 788 others were promoted
\nfollowing a\u00a0 promotion examination.(NAN)<\/p>\n
