A 21-year-old lady, Emila Sunday, has been arrested for allegedly
\nattempting to sell her three-month-old baby boy in Ojoto in Idemili
\nSouth Local Government Area of Anambra state.<\/p>\n
The suspect, a native of Akwa Ibom State, reportedly planned disposing
\nof the boy for N150,000.<\/p>\n
She blamed economic hardship for her actions.<\/p>\n
Confirming the incident, Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed said the
\nsuspect was nabbed on Nov. 24, 2020 evening by police operatives in the
\narea.<\/p>\n
He said: “On Nov. 24 at about 6 pm, following intelligence report,
\npolice operatives attached to Ojoto Division in Anambra State arrested
\none Emila Sunday who claimed to be 21years old from Akwa Ibom State with
\na three-month-old baby boy at Ire village Ojoto.<\/p>\n
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was attempting to
\nsell her three-month-old baby boy which the suspect claimed was due to
\nhardship.”<\/p>\n
Mohammed said the baby had been rescued in good health condition, adding
\nthat investigation was ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding
