The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said that his
\nadministration would continue to deploy funds and resources towards
\nimproving on the educational standard of the State.<\/p>\n
Abiodun stated this while declaring open 2020 All Nigeria Confederation
\nof Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Ogun State branch, 40th
\nAnnual Congress, held at Babcock University Stadium, Ilisan-Remo, Ogun
\nState.<\/p>\n
Represented by the Deputy Governor, the Governor said since the
\ninception of his administration, his government has continued to review
\nits strategy in the education industry in line with the world best
\npractices.<\/p>\n
“Indeed, the legacy laid by our forebears by creating a conducive
\nenvironment for the\u00a0 teaching and learning process, particularly in all
\nthe public primary and secondary schools, including tertiary institution
\nin-state will be continued to sustain and maintain its dignity,” Abiodun
\nsaid<\/p>\n
He added that part of the good policy of the government was deliberate
\nand calculated ideas in improving welfare, wellbeing and wellness of the
\nteaching and non-teaching staff in all secondary schools.<\/p>\n
He also noted that the promotion of over 10,000 teaching and
\nnon-teaching staff for 2016 and 2017 was a pointer to the commitment to
\nquality education in the State, noting that efforts were at the advanced
\nstage for conducting 2018, 2019, and 2020 promotion exercise.<\/p>\n
Abiodun however, sought more support and cooperation from school heads
\nand other relevant stakeholders towards the continued development of the
\neducational sector in the State.<\/p>\n
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Education, Science, and
\nTechnology, Prof\u00a0 Abayomi Arigbabu, said the state government was
\ncommitted to transforming the comatose state of the education sector,
\nwhile calling on ANCOPSS and other relevant stakeholders for more
\nsupport, as a successful implementation of government policies requires
\nthe concerted effort of all.<\/p>\n
Earlier in her welcome address, the Ogun State ANCOPSS President, Dr
\n(Mrs) Ayodele Olubunmi Womiloju, said the essence of the annual congress
\nwas to provide a veritable platform for all Principals of public
\nSecondary Schools in the state to come together and examine issues of
\nrelevance and importance in education, adding that as school
\nadministrators, all efforts must be made to restore good and sound
\nacademic culture back to schools.<\/p>\n
While commending Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration for the giant
\nstrides in the education sector, Dr. Womiloju promised that ANCOPSS
\nshall continue to cooperate, synergise and collaborate with the State
\ngovernment towards achieving the desired goals in the sector.<\/p>\n
