The All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused a Governor from one of<\/div>\n
\n
the North-West states as being responsible for the intense upsurge of
\nbanditry and killings in the region.<\/p>\n

Mr Yekini Nabena, the APC acting National Publicity Secretary on
\nThursday, challenged \u201csecurity agencies to investigate an intelligence
\nreport linking\u201d the governor to the heightened cases of banditry,
\nabductions, and other violent crimes in the zone.<\/p>\n

Nabena, who did not name the governor because of the \u201csecurity nature of
\nthe issue,\u201d said the increased spate of banditry in the North-west was
\npolitically-motivated and not unconnected to the unnamed governor\u2019s
\nalleged sponsorship of banditry and other violent crimes in the zone.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur security agencies have intelligence reports linking one of the
\nNorthwest governors of colluding and sponsoring the violent and criminal
\nactivities of bandits in the zone.<\/p>\n

\u201cI won\u2019t give details because of the sensitive nature of the issue.
\nHowever, relevant security agencies must, as a matter of urgency,
\ninvestigate the report, and determine its veracity. Human life is not
\nwhat we should play political chess games with.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must shun enemies of the country including the Peoples Democratic
\nParty who seek political gains from issues of insecurity.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur security agencies must also be alert to plots to destabilise the
\nNorth-west region further and frustrate the quick and safe release of
\nstudents abducted from Government Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina
\nState,\u201d the party said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The party also warned the opposition PDP from politicising the abduction
\nof schoolboys in Katsina state, accusing it of seeking political gains
\nfrom issues of insecurity.<\/p>\n

APC stated this while reacting to a protest organised by the PDP and its
\nwomen wing at its campaign headquarters in Abuja.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
