Governor Nasir Elrufai has expressed worries over renewed killings in<\/div>\n

the state following the death of six children and a woman in a reprisal
\nattack on some herders\u2019 settlements in the Kaura and Lere Local
\nGovernment Areas of Kaduna State.<\/p>\n

The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel
\nAruwan, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Aruwan said Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai was worried by the renewed
\nkillings.<\/p>\n

The attack came barely 24 hours after seven persons were killed in an
\nattack on Gora Gan village of the Zangon Kataf LGA of the state on
\nThursday night.<\/p>\n

The commissioner identified those killed in the reprisal attacks as
\nMustapha Haruna (One-year-old), Ya\u2019u Kada (One-year-old), Sa\u2019idu
\nAbdullahi (One-year-old), Zainab Zakari (One-year-old), Sadiya Abdullahi
\n(Five years), and Aisha Abdullahi (One-year-old), while an unidentified
\nwoman was burnt beyond recognition.<\/p>\n

Aruwan added that two persons were injured during the attacks, while
\nfive other persons were still missing.<\/p>\n

The statement reads, \u201cThe military, under the auspices of Operation Safe
\nHaven and the police, have informed the Kaduna State Government of
\ncounter-attacks on some herder settlements in Kauru and Lere local
\ngovernment areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to the operational feedback from the security agencies,
\naggrieved youths carried out the attacks following the killing of seven
\npersons on Thursday night in Gora Gan, Zangon Kataf local government.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe security agencies reported that seven herders were killed in a
\ncounter killing in Ungwan Idi and Kasheku villages of Kauru local
\ngovernment while two herders were injured at Ningi village of Lere local
\ngovernment.<\/p>\n

\u201cFive persons are still missing, and troops are searching for them in
\nthe general area. Six huts were burnt in the attack. Aisha Mohammed (20
\nyears) and Sadiya Abdullahi (25 years) who were wounded in the Kauru LGA
\nreprisal attack are receiving medical attention at Ungwan Idi Clinic.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt Ningi village of Lere local government area, the two herders were
\ninjured and rushed to General Hospital, Saminaka, in the same local
\ngovernment: Bingel Odi (31 years) and Isa Joda (seven years).\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
