{"id":78089,"date":"2021-02-01T19:31:31","date_gmt":"2021-02-01T18:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=78089"},"modified":"2021-02-01T19:31:31","modified_gmt":"2021-02-01T18:31:31","slug":"fg-disburses-over-n1-3-billion-to-131764-households-in-zamfara-official","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/fg-disburses-over-n1-3-billion-to-131764-households-in-zamfara-official\/","title":{"rendered":"FG disburses over N1.3 billion to 131,764 households in Zamfara \u2013  Official"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\">The Federal Government has begun the second disbursement of over N1.3<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">billion to 131,764 beneficiaries in Zamfara under the Household<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Uplifting Programme-Conditional Cash Transfer (HUP-CCT).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the HUP-CCT is one of the<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Four Social Investment Programmes anchored by the Federal Government to<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">reduce poverty level among poor and vulnerable Nigerians.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The HUP-CCT Head of Unit Cash Transfer in Zamfara, Alhaji Sani Marafa,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">disclosed this in Bungudu town, Bungudu Local Government Area of the<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">state, on Monday, while monitoring the disbursement exercise.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Marafa said the disbursement will be conducted in six benefiting Local<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Government Areas (LGAs) across the state.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Marafa, represented by the Training and Communication Officer, State<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Cash Transfer Unit, Zamfara, Alhaji Nasiru Ja\u2019afar, gave a breakdown of<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">beneficiaries from the benefiting LGAs as follows:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u201cKaura-Namoda \u2013 31,731 beneficiaries, Bungudu \u2013 26,438, Anka \u2013 14,952,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Talata-Mafara \u2013 18,229, Birnin-Magaji \u2013 13,858 and Tsafe \u2013 25,551.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">He further noted that the second disbursement of the grant was for two<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">months and that each beneficiary is entitled to N5,000 per month.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u201cUnder the scheme, each beneficiary will be paid two months stipend of<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">N10,000.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThose beneficiaries have been selected from 1,116 communities in 51<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">wards of the six benefiting LGAs.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe objective of this programme is to alleviate poverty and ensure<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">sustainable livelihoods from the grassroots, thus targeting the poor and<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">vulnerable people in rural communities and followed up with coaching and<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">mentoring exercise to train them on how to save,\u201d Marafa explained.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">According to him, the financial assistance is to uplift the households<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">to enable them engage in small-scale businesses to become self reliant<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">and uplift their standards of living.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Marafa commended the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Management and Social Development , Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk, for her<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">untiring efforts towards the success of the programme that had direct<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">bearing on the people of the state and Nigeria at large.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">He told the beneficiaries that whosoever failed to collect his Permanent<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Payment Card or misplaced the card, should not hesitate to show up<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">during the mop up\u00a0 exercise after the normal payment.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">He also assured that all eligible beneficiaries would be paid in good<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">time.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The National Communication Officer of the Programme, Mr Henry Ayede,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">said the payment was for the months of September and October, 2020.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u201dThe payment system is fully electronic. The beneficiaries come with<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">their permanent payment card to collect their stipend at various pay<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">units.
