The All Progressive Congress, (APC), Abia State chapter, says it is
\nfully determined to sack the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from
\nthe state, adding that with the calibre of politicians now in the party,
\nPDP stands no chance in the 2023 election.<\/p>\n
APC Chairman, Abia State, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa, who stated this at
\nMgboko Umuoria , Obingwa LGA, after the APC national Membership
\nRevalidation Committee revalidated the membership of a former APC
\ngovernorship aspirant, Sir Friday Nwosu; said Governor Okezie Ikpeazu
\nwould be the last governor to rule the state on the platform of the PDP.<\/p>\n
He said; “We are determined to remove everything that has to do with PDP
\nin all political positions in Abia State in 2023. We want to use this
\nregistration to prove that APC is the largest political party in Abia
\nState and in the South East. We’re the largest and latest growing state
\nchapter in the whole nation.<\/p>\n
“We’re getting big names that have made impacts in the society. There
\nare many other big names we’ll register next week that’ll help to prove
\nto you that PDP has no hiding place in Abia. Governor Okezie Ikpeazu
\nwill be the last PDP Governor in Abia. It’s a task that must be
\nfulfilled. We only beg our leaders to help unite us and not allow their
\nnames to be used in dividing our party.”<\/p>\n
Earlier, Maigari, who is the Chairman of the APC national membership
\nrevalidated committee for Abia state, urged Abia people to mobilize
\nothers to register, revalidate and change the political landscape of the
\nstate come 2023.<\/p>\n
“Bring people to come and register and revalidate massively in APC so
\nthat APC will have the largest number in Abia and South East. We’re also
\npraying that Come 2023, APC will flush out the existing PDP Government
\nin Abia State.<\/p>\n
“We cannot do on our own, you cannot do it on your own, but it can be
\ndone only by the grace of God. Please come together, mobilize your
\npeople to register in APC to ensure that come 2023, after the general
\nelection so that APC will emerge the overall winner in the entire
\nNation. Help us get to where we want to be,” he said.<\/p>\n
Speaking after revalidating his membership of the party, former
\ngovernorship aspirant in the party in the state, Sir Friday Nwosu,
\nexplained that he has mobilized his community and ward members for the
\nrevalidation programme, stressing that APC must focus on the grassroots
\nahead of the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n
“We’ve called everybody from the grassroots, my local community, other
\nvillages, our farmers, our petty traders, our teachers and all the local
\npeople to come and register in APC.\u00a0 I charge everyone here to go out
\nthere to call our people because APC and our style of operation here is
\ngrassroots based. Those who have registered previously must come to
\nrevalidate.<\/p>\n
“Nobody should labour our people. Just get the records of those that
\nhave registered and whatever it will cost, we have few of us who can
\ncome together and take care of it. We want every Obingwa indigene and
\nthe entire Abia State to be members of APC. That’s the only way we can
\nvote in the next Governor of Abia under this party.”<\/p>\n
