Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and his Delta State counterpart, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, have expressed optimism when the<\/div>\n
\n
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) return to power in 2023, it will pull the country\u00a0from the brinks.<\/p>\n

The governors hinged their hope on the proven ability of the PDP to improve\u00a0the living condition of Nigerians which has diminished under the
\nincumbent All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n

Governor Wike\u00a0 while addressing delegates at the PDP South-South\u00a0 zonal congress\u00a0which held in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, said Nigerians are
\nyearning to return the party to power in 2023.<\/p>\n

He said everything has been done to ensure that the PDP zonal congress held\u00a0without hitches or rancour.<\/p>\n

“The hope of this party in this country is the South-South zone. Since 1999 that has been the case and it has never changed, and by the grace
\nof God it will not change.”<\/p>\n

He further continued: “Let us conduct ourselves to show that PDP is different from all other political associations. And that of course will show we are more committed, we mean well and are waiting by the grace of God\u00a0to take over power in 2023.”<\/p>\n

Similarly, Delta State governor, Senator\u00a0 Ifeanyi Okowa, said the PDP has\u00a0a bright prospect to return to power in 2023.<\/p>\n

Governor Okowa maintained that Nigeria was much better under PDP rule than\u00a0the APC.<\/p>\n

He declared that the PDP will pull back the country from the brink and Nigerians\u00a0will be better for it.<\/p>\n

The Delta State governor said the South-South zone dominated by the PDP will\u00a0continue to be a voice in national politics. He urged delegates and
\nmembers of the party to collectively work together, because in that unity\u00a0the zone will be able to make strong impact in the nation.<\/p>\n

“We thank God that we are gathered here once again as a zone,as a party and we thank God because you know when the South South zone of the Peoples Democratic Party speak, we speak with one voice. And being the strength\u00a0of our party and the South-South being the strength of our
\nnation, Nigeria , we cannot but continue to give glory to God because God\u00a0has brought us together and as long as we stay united and strong we
\nwill be continually\u00a0 respected in this nation.”<\/p>\n

He said going forward into the future, the South South zone of the Peoples\u00a0Democratic Party will continue to remain strong, united and the
\nleadership will continue to give\u00a0 direction that will help to rebuild the\u00a0party and to take back\u00a0 country.<\/p>\n

Governor Okowa\u00a0 reassured the zonal leadership of that party that the South\u00a0South Governors will work in close relationship with them to
\nstrengthen the state chapters of the party.<\/p>\n

The PDP national legal adviser, Emmanuel Enoidem moved a motion for the dissolution of the zonal executive led by acting zonal chairman, Chief Dan Orbih. The motion was seconded by Senator Aisagbonriodion Matthew Urhoghide, who represents Edo South in the Senate.<\/p>\n

Also present at the zonal congress were the Governor of Edo State, Godwin\u00a0Obaseki; Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri and the
\nDeputy Governor of Akwa-Ibom State, Mr Moses Ekpo, who represented Governor\u00a0Udom Emmanuel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
