Julius Berger Nigeria Plc once again has strongly exhibited its
\nresourceful, qualitative and innovative leadership of the country\u2019s
\nengineering construction sector as the company concurrently accomplished
\na series of major infrastructural development projects well ahead of
\ntheir scheduled delivery dates for commissioning by the Rivers State
\nGovernment in Port Harcourt, last week.<\/p>\n
All of last week, it was a daily festival of projects commissioning by
\nGovernor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON, GSSRS, POS (Africa) as well as
\ngroundbreaking and flag off of several new infrastructural development
\nprojects in the Rivers State Capital.<\/p>\n
This round of commissioning of successfully executed and completed
\nprojects by the Rivers State Government, commenced on Monday 1st March,
\nwith the inauguration for public use of the Okoro-Nu-Odo Flyover. The
\nproject was built on record time of 14 months ahead of its schedule of
\n16 months completion date, was commissioned by the Special Guest of
\nHonour at the event, the former Governor of Cross River State, His
\nExcellency Donald Duke at Okoro-Nu-Odo, Obior Akpor. Donald Duke was
\nably accompanied by his elegant wife Her Exellency, Barrister Mrs Onari
\nDuke, the former First Lady of Cross River State who is an indigene of
\nRivers State.<\/p>\n
On the 2nd day of the harvest of projects commissioning, the Rivers
\nState Government in the morning at the Council Chambers of the
\nGovernment House, again signed another contract with Julius Berger Plc
\nfor the construction of two more flyovers (flyovers 7 and 8) in the
\nGarden City, Port Harcourt. Thereafter, the Rumuogba 1 and 2 Flyover
\nconstructed and also completed by Julius Berger ahead of schedule was
\nformally inaugurated by the State government for public use. The Special
\nGuest of Honour at this ceremony was the former Governor of Kano State,
\nEngr. Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, FNSE, FNIQS.<\/p>\n
The next day, 3rd March,\u00a0 saw Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike also
\ncommissioning two GRA Phase 2 roads, Tombia and Opobo Crescents,
\nconstructed and completed by Julius Berger Plc. At the ceremony,
\nGovernor Wike also formally announced the change of the name of Opobo
\nCrescent to Fred Alabrabra Road. The Guest of Honour at the
\ncommissioning of the two roads was the former Governor of Katsina State,
\nHis Excellency, Alhaji (Barrister) Ibrahim Shehu Shema.<\/p>\n
On Thursday 4th March, in the evening, Governor Wike commissioned a
\nstate-of-the-art Government House Clinic as well as a new ultra-modern
\nAdministrative Building, both of which were constructed by Julius
\nBerger. The Special Guest of Honour at the ceremony was His Excellency
\nDr Bukola Olusola Saraki, the former Kwara State Governor and ersthwhile
\nPresident of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.<\/p>\n
On Friday 5th March, Governor Wike performed the ground-breaking and
\nflagging of ceremony of a new flyover project, the Nkpolu-Oroworukwo
\nflyover to be constructed by the indefatigable and reliable Julius
\nBerger. Chief Dan Orbih, the South-south Zonal Chairman of the PDP was
\nthe Special Guest of Honour of the Governor at the ceremony.<\/p>\n
Not done with his busy weekday work itinerary, Governor Wike again on
\nSaturday, 6th March, invited the former Governor of Rivers State, His
\nExcellency Chief (Sir) Celestine Ngozichim Omehia, to flag off yet
\nanother major infrastructural project, the Orochiri\/Wurukwo Flyover at
\nWaterlines junction, Aba road, Port Harcourt.<\/p>\n
From one completed project to the other, Julius Berger\u2019s premium,
\npace-setting, reliable and lasting engineering construction quality was
\nextolled by each speaker at the events. Governor Wike, at every stop,
\nheartily thanked the contractor, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, for working
\nso hard and well and delivering to the Rivers State Government and
\npeople matchless quality in the commissioned projects. The Rivers State
\nGovernor also poured encomiums on Julius Berger for its very
\nprofessional speed in delivering the projects in 14 months ahead of the
\n16 months originally scheduled for the completion of the works, in spite
\nof the clear challenges of the covid-19 pandemic. The Governor also
\nseized the opportunity to thank all the people of the communities in
\nwhich the projects were constructed for the peace, cooperation and
\nsupport they gave to Julius Berger which enabled them to achieve and
\ndeliver every one of the projects.<\/p>\n
Former Governors Donald Duke of Cross River State, Rabiu Kwankwaso of
\nKano State and Ibrahim Sheu Shema of Katsina States, all praised Julius
\nBerger for the excellent and strong performance and resourcefulness by
\nwhich the trustworthy contractor delivered the high quality projects for
\ncommissioning.<\/p>\n
In the words of ex-Governor Shehu Shema, \u201cGiven the quality of works the
\ncontractor continues to deliver to Nigerians across this country, Julius
\nBerger Nigeria Plc is clearly a First Class engineering construction
\ncompany in the global index.\u201d<\/p>\n
Engr. Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers
\nand also a Fellow of the Nigerian Institue of Quantity Surveyors,
\nrecalled that as Governor of Kano State, he also engaged the services of
\nJulius Berger for the construction of three major infrastructural
\ndevelopment projects, all of which, he said, \u201care still standing strong
\nas a testimony to the strength, reliabilty and lasting quality of Julius
\nBerger\u2019s engineering standards.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Engr. Dr. Lars
\nRichter thanked Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for entrusting the company
\nwith the contracts to deliver the projects. Lars thanked the Governor
\nfondly called \u201cMr Projects\u201d by the Rivers people for his constant
\nmonitoring and tireless inspection of the projects morning, day and
\nnight during the works to deliver them, adding that a new and worthy
\ntitle for the Governor would rightly and truthfully be \u201cA Great Project
