No fewer than 20 INEC workers, party agents and voters, has escaped<\/div>\n

death as a substance suspected to be a bomb, exploded at the Umuola
\nHall, Ward 8, Ogbor Hill, Aba North LGA, at the ongoing by -election
\ninto the Aba North\/Aba South federal constituency position.<\/p>\n

Umuola Hall ,ward 8, hosts 13 polling units. There was a large gathering
\nof voters and party agents as the four contending political parties;
\nPDP,APGA, AA and APC , struggle to outwit each other.<\/p>\n

Though no life was lost, electoral materials were destroyed as workers,
\nvoters and party agents scampered to safety.<\/p>\n

However, a combined team of soldiers and policemen stormed the area and
\nrestored normalcy and voting has restarted.<\/p>\n

A voter, who gave his Chinedu\u00a0 Eze, told journalists that they were on
\nqueue when they heard a blast in the area and everyone fled.<\/p>\n

He said; “We were on the\u00a0 queue; some people were being accredited to
\ncast their votes when we heard a loud sound. Everybody took to their
\ntheir heels. It was a bomb and we didn’t know where it came from. We
\nreturned when soldiers\u00a0 and Police came to the hall. Now, voting has
\nstarted once again. It is a miracle, we thank God that nobody was
\ninjured, imagine the number of people in the hall that could have died.”<\/p>\n

As usual, Commissioner of Police, Mrs Janet Agbede, didnt respond to
\ncalls placed on her mobile number, as at the time of filing this report.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
