{"id":79472,"date":"2021-04-04T23:06:42","date_gmt":"2021-04-04T22:06:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=79472"},"modified":"2021-04-04T23:06:42","modified_gmt":"2021-04-04T22:06:42","slug":"suspected-herdsmen-kidnap-5-persons-in-obianos-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/other-news\/suspected-herdsmen-kidnap-5-persons-in-obianos-community\/","title":{"rendered":"Suspected Herdsmen Kidnap 5 Persons in Obiano&#8217;s Community"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1696139509125068172\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Five persons were\u00a0<a dir=\"ltr\" rel=\"noreferrer\">on Saturday night<\/a>kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen close to Aguleri community, Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The victims are said to hail from Aguleri, where the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano also comes from, and were returning from Awka, the state capital, where they attended a wedding ceremony when they were taken.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">A victim who escaped abduction who gave his name as Chidi narrated his experience in an audio clip which is being circulated in social media.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cI escaped. My Aguleri brothers were captured by them. I don\u2019t know if they were killed or not. Four men and one lady from Aguleri were taken away. There were shootings in the area but I escaped.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, a Deputy Superitendent of Police, Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the incident on Sunday.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He said that of the five kidnapped persons, two were rescued by police operatives led by the District Police Officer of Otuocha division, while the identity of the kidnappers was yet to be ascertained.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;It was a kidnap incident and it happened at night. Five persons were kidnapped but the operatives led by the DPO Otuocha quickly moved into action and rescued two persons. They are still in manhunt to rescue the other three. We are yet to identify those people that kidnapped them.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cThe abducted persons are five in number. Four men and a lady.
