Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has assured that the Federal Government<\/div>\n

would\u00a0 strengthen security at correctional centres across the country.<\/p>\n

Osinbajo gave the assurance\u00a0 while addressing newsmen\u00a0 at the Owerri
\nCustodial Centre, Imo, on Tuesday after inspecting the facility to
\nascertain the\u00a0 extent of damage by hoodlums who attacked the centre on
\nMonday, April 5, 2021.<\/p>\n

The vice president who condemned the attacks on the correctional centre
\nand Police Headquarters in Owerri, said that the security architecture
\nof the country would\u00a0 be rejigged.<\/p>\n

He further assured that all those responsible for the attacks would\u00a0 be
\nuncovered\u00a0 and made to face the full wrath\u00a0 of the law.<\/p>\n

He\u00a0 asserted that the attacks were against the Nigerian people and her
\ngovernment, adding that it must not be condoned.<\/p>\n

\u201cPerpetrators of this act will definitely be brought to book. They must
\nnot go free. They are\u00a0 cowards and will be discovered and duly
\nprosecuted.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be\u00a0 rejigging the security architecture of the country and
\nstrengthening\u00a0 security at correctional centres nationwide,\u201d\u00a0 he said.<\/p>\n

Osinbajo, however, urged security agencies not to relent in the fight
