{"id":79857,"date":"2021-04-20T19:08:46","date_gmt":"2021-04-20T18:08:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=79857"},"modified":"2021-04-20T19:08:46","modified_gmt":"2021-04-20T18:08:46","slug":"senate-orders-probes-of-cct-chairman-danladi-umar-over-assault-on-security-guard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/senate-orders-probes-of-cct-chairman-danladi-umar-over-assault-on-security-guard\/","title":{"rendered":"Senate orders Probes of CCT Chairman Danladi Umar Over Assault On Security Guard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Senate has directed its Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to probe the alleged assault on a security guard by the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Danladi Umar.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, Tuesday \u00a0gave the directive after the Senator representing Plateau North, Istifanus Gyang, laid a petition before the Senate on behalf of the victim, Clement Sargwak.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The victim through his representative in the red chamber alleged in his petition that he was assaulted by Umar and a policeman attached to him after he informed him (Umar) that his car was wrongly parked.<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old employee of Jul Reliable Guards Services Limited, posted as a security guard to Banex Plaza, in Wuse, Abuja, told the Senate that he was attacked by Umar last month.<\/p>\n<p>He said the CCT boss slapped him severally and forced him to kneel down in the presence of everybody while undergoing his lawful activities.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>He, therefore, asked the Senate to ensure justice was done on his case.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The Senate President asked the Chairman of the Ethics panel, Senator Ayo Akinyelure, to investigate the matter and report back to the Senate within four weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Umar was caught in a viral video clip slapping and kicking the security guard following an altercation between them over the space where the CCT chairman parked his car on the premises of the plaza.<\/p>\n<p>The CCT, had, however, in a statement, denied the assault allegation.<\/p>\n<p>The Tribunal insisted that it was Umar that was assaulted by \u201csome miscreants\u201d who gathered at the scene of the incident.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Senate has directed its Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to probe the alleged assault on a security guard by the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau,&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":79858,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-79857","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
