{"id":80296,"date":"2021-05-03T20:24:41","date_gmt":"2021-05-03T19:24:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=80296"},"modified":"2021-05-03T20:24:41","modified_gmt":"2021-05-03T19:24:41","slug":"anambra-guber-aspirant-others-commend-inecs-early-released-2023-general-election-date","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/other-news\/anambra-guber-aspirant-others-commend-inecs-early-released-2023-general-election-date\/","title":{"rendered":"Anambra guber aspirant, others commend INEC&#8217;s early released 2023 general election date"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1698765233425682505\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\">The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been commended by Anambra politicians and other stakeholders for the early released 2023 general elections date.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">It would be recalled\u00a0that INEC, has fixed\u00a0<a dir=\"ltr\" rel=\"noreferrer\">Feb. 18, 2023<\/a>\u00a0for the general elections in the country.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Mr Godwin Ezeemo, a front-line politician and People&#8217;s Democratic Party (PDP) guber aspirant in\u00a0<a dir=\"ltr\" rel=\"noreferrer\">Nov. 6<\/a>\u00a0election in Anambra said that INEC had done well by giving enough notice to ensure adequate preparations of the elections.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He urged the electoral umpire to ensure that necessary electoral challenges and processes were improved upon before the date.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;This will boost the confidence on it by the constitution as well as reduce litigations in courts,&#8221; Ezeemo said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Mr Christain Beluchukwu, a political stakeholder in the state also commended the efforts of the electoral body, while calling for quick resolution of insecurity in the country for smooth and free election.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Mrs Grace Anagor, a community political leader said Nigerians and international communities would expect INEC to conduct the freest election in 2023.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Chief Chris Elumunoh, a former Ansmbra president of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, however, said it is too early for the release of the 2023 general elections date by INEC.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;Is INEC sure that people will come out to vote under the heat of insecurity challenges in Nigeria.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;How safe is the country now?, what arrangements are government making to stop the security challenges.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;It is too early to talk of elections, the country is on fire, you are talking of 2023 general elections, how many people will be alive to participate?.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;Militants everywhere, we need to address insecurity first before the 2023 election 2023,&#8221; he said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been commended by Anambra politicians and other stakeholders for the early released 2023 general elections date.
