Leaders of Ajimobi Legacy Forum and Unity Forum in the Oyo State chapter
\nof All Progressives Congress (APC) have resolved to bury their
\ndifferences and work together for the progress of the party.<\/p>\n
This is contained in a communiqu\u00e9 jointly signed by their Co-Chairmen
\nand Co-Secretaries, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in
\nIbadan.<\/p>\n
The co-chairmen are: Chief Kunle Sanda and Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi, while
\nProf. Adeolu Akande and Mr Gbenga Ariba signed as co-secretaries.<\/p>\n
The meeting, held at the banquet hall of Premier Hotel, was attended by
\nleaders of both groups, drawn from all the 33 local government areas of
\nthe state.<\/p>\n
Both groups loyal to the late former Govs. Abiola Ajimobi and Lam
\nAdeshina respectively, had parted ways, based on irreconcilable
\ndifferences, which caused the party to lose the governorship seat.<\/p>\n
The group pledged to work assiduously for the victory of the party at
\nall levels in the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n
The leaders called on their members to collapse their various meetings
\ninto one at all levels, urging them to work for peace, unity and
\nprogress of the party.<\/p>\n
The group resolved to sustain the enduring legacies of Chief Obafemi
\nAwolowo, Chief Bola Ige, Adesina and Ajimobi.<\/p>\n
They commended the efforts of Mrs Florence Ajimobi and other prominent
\nleaders of the group to ensure reconciliation of the two warring groups.<\/p>\n
The APC leaders pledged their support to the state APC leadership under
\nChief Akin Oke.<\/p>\n
The group also affirmed their continued loyalty and support for
\nPresident Muhammadu Buhari and his
\ngovernment, urging Nigerians to pray for the country in these trying
\ntimes.<\/p>\n
NAN reports that the meeting was attended by the immediate past deputy
\ngovernor, Chief Moses Adeyemo, Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin, Sen. Ayoade
\nAdeseun and Mr Adebayo Shittu, a former Minister of Communications.<\/p>\n
Also present were: Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Chairman, National Lottery
\nCommission, Akande, Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC),
\nMr Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye and Sanda.<\/p>\n
Also in attendance were: Chief Silas Lasunsi, Chief Goke Oyetunji,
\nAlhaji Isiaka Alimi, Mr Lasun Adebunmi, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi, Chief Femi
\nOlaore and Dr Olalekan Adeyemo, the state APC Deputy Chairman.<\/p>\n
The leaders, in their various remarks at the meeting, expressed joy and
\nreadiness to work together for the progress of the party.<\/p>\n
Adeyemo, Lanlehin, Adeseun, Ibikunle, Shittu and Abass-Aleshinloye
\ncalled for concerted efforts by all members to ensure the past take back
\nthe seat of governance in the state.<\/p>\n
They all commended Mrs Ajimobi for championing the cause of unity in the
\nparty through Ibikunle and Akande.<\/p>\n
They also stressed the need for sustaining the existing unity in the
\nparty, urging members at all levels to ensure that the reconciliation
\nprocess was replicated in their various communities.<\/p>\n
Also Lasunsi, Sanda, Gbadamosi, Adeyemo, Oyetunji and Adeyemo, in their
\nvarious remarks, said that there was no going back on the unity of the
\ngroup.<\/p>\n
They commended Mrs Ajimobi and Alhaja Sarat Adesina, wife of the late
