{"id":80772,"date":"2021-05-16T16:37:18","date_gmt":"2021-05-16T15:37:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=80772"},"modified":"2021-05-16T16:37:18","modified_gmt":"2021-05-16T15:37:18","slug":"insecurity-give-military-modern-weapons-to-fight-ibb-tells-buhari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/insecurity-give-military-modern-weapons-to-fight-ibb-tells-buhari\/","title":{"rendered":"Insecurity: Give military modern weapons to fight \u2013 IBB tells Buhari"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1699928987427500121\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Former military President, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB, on Sunday, urged the Federal Government to equip the military with modern weapons to tackle insecurity.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">Babangida said the Federal Government should also train the military in the use of modern weapons.He stated this in an interview with BBC Hausa Services.<\/p>\n<p>According to Babangida: \u201cProvide them with all they require and let them know this is their country, they\u2019ve no other better than this.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey also need to be trained on how to use the modern weapons, not to get weapons and just hand them over to them. They should be trained.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former leader also disclosed that he usually advised the Federal Government on ways to end insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201dWe give advice, as we can, but we don\u2019t make noise about it. We don\u2019t announce that this is what we say.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe should unite, we should support those in power, we are all working towards achieving the same goal. Between the leaders and citizens, we need peace and a harmonious relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Babangida further urged Nigerians to unite with the government in the fight against insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis problem of insecurity, every government has its experience but if we unite.
