{"id":80950,"date":"2021-05-20T07:37:07","date_gmt":"2021-05-20T06:37:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=80950"},"modified":"2021-05-20T07:37:07","modified_gmt":"2021-05-20T06:37:07","slug":"7-apc-governors-in-calabar-for-pre-defection-dinner-as-gov-ayade-dumps-pdp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/7-apc-governors-in-calabar-for-pre-defection-dinner-as-gov-ayade-dumps-pdp\/","title":{"rendered":"7 APC Governors in Calabar for\u00a0Pre-defection Dinner as\u00a0Gov Ayade Dumps PDP"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State is set to dump the People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n<p>The governor may announce his defection as early as Thursday, May 20, 2021, according to sources who confided in Pointblanknews.com.<\/p>\n<p>As the Governor dumps PDP, a prelude to the defection, he is at the moment hosting a dinner in Government House, Calabar, with seven APC Governors in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the APC Governors in attendance\u00a0<a dir=\"ltr\" href=\"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1621578941539000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGmlgY0i6RCdiiZ9QArEfnfBDqpiA\">pointblanknews.com<\/a>\u00a0<wbr \/>gathered are those of Kebbi, Yobe, Ebonyi, Imo and Nasarawa.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Ayade is having a running battle with the PDP in the state over the control of the party\u2019s structures, which he does not have a hold on.<\/p>\n<p>The governor has also not been participating in the recent events of the PDP governors, preferring to delegate his deputy instead.<\/p>\n<p>Several efforts by the PDP Governors and leadership to prevail on the governor to remain\u00a0 with the umbrella party have yielded no positive result.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Only last week, Gov. Tambuwal lead PDP governorship forum had met with the embittered governor but he was adamant.
