{"id":81325,"date":"2021-05-30T16:00:16","date_gmt":"2021-05-30T15:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=81325"},"modified":"2021-05-30T16:00:16","modified_gmt":"2021-05-30T15:00:16","slug":"police-disclose-how-gulak-was-murdered-direct-discreet-investigation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/police-disclose-how-gulak-was-murdered-direct-discreet-investigation\/","title":{"rendered":"Police disclose how Gulak was murdered,\u00a0direct discreet investigation\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1701191838708599384\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Nigerian Police have given a clearer account on how former Political Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak was assassinated in Owerri, Imo State by unknown gunmen early Sunday.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">According to a statement by Imo state\u00a0Police Public Relations Officer,\u00a0Sp Bala Elkana,\u00a0&#8220;On the 30\/5\/2021, at about 07:20hrs, armed bandits intercepted and attacked a Toyota Camry cab carrying Ahmed Gulak and two others who were on their way to Sam Mbakwe Airport to catch a flight.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;Ahmed Gulak left his room at Protea Hotel without informing the Police nor sister agencies in view of the fragile security situation in the South East and Imo in particular. He left without any security escorts and while the cab driver took irregular route to the airport, six armed bandits who rode in a Toyota Sienna intercepted, identified and shot at Ahmed Gulak at around Umueze Obiangwu in Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area close to the Airport.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;The Commissioner of Police Imo\u00a0 CP Abutu Yaro, has directed a discreet investigation into the matter as Tactical and Special forces have been deployed to cordone the area and arrest perpetrators.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Pointblanknews.com had reported an earlier statement by Gulak&#8217;s<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">classmate, Dr Umar Ado who comfirmed the assassination.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He said, \u201cI just confirmed the sad and gruesome death of my friend and classmate, the former Hon. Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, former Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President and former Special Adviser Political to President Goodluck Jonathan, Barr.
