{"id":81773,"date":"2021-06-07T10:25:40","date_gmt":"2021-06-07T09:25:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=81773"},"modified":"2021-06-07T10:25:40","modified_gmt":"2021-06-07T09:25:40","slug":"allow-igbo-to-have-biafra-cng-tells-northern-leaders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/allow-igbo-to-have-biafra-cng-tells-northern-leaders\/","title":{"rendered":"Allow Igbo To Have Biafra, CNG Tells Northern Leaders"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has urged northern leaders to get the Nigerian state and other critical stakeholders to accept the reality that the only remaining option to avert a civil war and bloodshed is for the Igbo to be allowed to have Biafra.<\/p>\n<p>It made the call in a letter to all northern emirs\/chiefs, all former heads of states, former Senate presidents, former chief justices, political and religious leaders as well as the Arewa Consultative Forum and the Northern Elders Forum.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe CNG, in the letter signed by the chairman of its Board of Trustees, Nastura Shariff, alleged that the Igbo had, for decades, intermittently used the agitation for Biafra to destabilize Nigeria and deny peace to other components of the country.<\/p>\n<p>It stated that the level of anger elicited by the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra and its sponsors at home and in the diaspora had reached \u201cthe inevitable point where the Igbos must be separated from Nigeria by invoking the relevant statutes on self-determination entrenched in various international conventions and treaties to which Nigeria is a signatory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The CNG also asked northern leaders to ensure safe relocation of all northerners from the southeast.<\/p>\n<p>It said urgent steps must equally be taken to check the mass movement of people from the proposed Biafra land into the vast interior of the north as well as the permanent nature of their migration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the avoidance of doubt, the north should no longer be expected to be restrained from paying back any further act of aggressive provocation on northerners living as minorities in any part of southern Nigeria,\u201d the CNG stated.<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"adL\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has urged northern leaders to get the Nigerian state and other critical stakeholders to accept the reality that the only remaining option to avert&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":81774,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-81773","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
