{"id":81890,"date":"2021-06-09T07:06:55","date_gmt":"2021-06-09T06:06:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=81890"},"modified":"2021-06-09T17:52:41","modified_gmt":"2021-06-09T16:52:41","slug":"insecurity-obasanjo-abdulsalami-sultan-others-to-meet-in-abuja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/insecurity-obasanjo-abdulsalami-sultan-others-to-meet-in-abuja\/","title":{"rendered":"Insecurity: Obasanjo, Abdulsalami, Sultan others to meet in Abuja"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"I_52qC D_FY W_6D6F\" data-test-id=\"message-view-body\">\n<div class=\"msg-body P_wpofO mq_AS\" data-test-id=\"message-view-body-content\">\n<div class=\"jb_0 X_6MGW N_6Fd5\">\n<div id=\"yiv4499243009\">\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Concerning the worsening security situation in Nigeria, the Interfaith Initiatives for Peace has convened a meeting to discuss \u201cpressing issues\u201d in the country.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nThe meeting, which is scheduled to hold on June 10 at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, is jointly led by Nigeria\u2019s former President Olusegun Obasanjo; Sultan of Sokoto, Sa\u2019ad Abubakar; former head of state, Abdulsalami Abubakar and former Catholic archbishop of Abuja, John Onaiyekan.<\/p>\n<p>Issues such as national unity, security, peace, integration, economic revitalisation, and development will be discussed at the meeting.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">A letter addressed to the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, reads, \u201cI am pleased to invite you on behalf of Interfaith Initiatives for Peace jointly led by the Sultan of Sokoto, his eminence Mohammad Sa\u2019adu Abubakar and his eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan, national peace committee chaired by General Abdulsalami Abubakar and Socio-cultural Consultative Committee convened by me and all these bodies called Committee of Goodness of Nigeria, CGN,\u00a0 to an exploratory meeting on pressing issues of national unity, security, peace, integration, economic revitalization and development, women and youth welfare and general progress.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Obasanjo had on Sunday asked Nigerians to cry to God for a solution to the security crisis plaguing the country.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cWe seem to have been overwhelmed and unsure of how to handle the crisis in our land. But nothing is too difficult for God to do. That is why we are here.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe have some challenges. These are beyond what we can handle.
