{"id":82113,"date":"2021-06-12T13:20:47","date_gmt":"2021-06-12T12:20:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=82113"},"modified":"2021-06-12T13:25:47","modified_gmt":"2021-06-12T12:25:47","slug":"buhari-seeks-special-court-to-investigate-assets-of-elected-officials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/buhari-seeks-special-court-to-investigate-assets-of-elected-officials\/","title":{"rendered":"Buhari seeks special court to investigate\u00a0assets of\u00a0elected officials"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1702359303451201590\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">President Muhammadu Buhari has said elected officials across the country will be embarrassed if the sources of their current assets were investigated.<\/div>\n<p>President Buhari spoke Friday night in an exclusive interview he granted the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).<\/p>\n<p>The president restated the need for a specialized court to pursue corruption cases to convince Nigerians about the seriousness of the government.<\/p>\n<p>He described the Nigerian elite as being \u201cvery forgetful people\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The president said his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will remain in power for as long as possible.<\/p>\n<p>He said everything possible was being done to make the party formidable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is why we carried out the revalidation exercise. From state to state; local government to local government and ward by ward,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cI prefer APC to be in power as long as possible. The future of this administration will depend on the survival of APC after we have left.
