{"id":82303,"date":"2021-06-17T08:28:02","date_gmt":"2021-06-17T07:28:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=82303"},"modified":"2021-06-17T08:28:02","modified_gmt":"2021-06-17T07:28:02","slug":"pdp-govs-rejecting-efforts-to-end-herders-farmers-crises-presidency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/pdp-govs-rejecting-efforts-to-end-herders-farmers-crises-presidency\/","title":{"rendered":"PDP Govs Rejecting Efforts To End Herders\/Farmers Crises \u2014 Presidency"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The Presidency says the People\u2019s Democratic Party Governors\u2019 Forum has refused to support the Federal Government\u2019s earnest desire to reinstate the local government as the third tier and finding a lasting solution to farmer-herder conflicts costing the nation lives and livestock.A presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, in a statement Wednesday, was reacting to an earlier communique issued on Monday by the PDP governors after their meeting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Shehu said: \u201cThis initiative brings rights and support for generations of all ages to bring solutions to challenges that different communities of our country have faced, but the PDP governors reject it.\u201dHe said with this, the PDP governors denied all Nigerians their constitutional right to live and work in any state of the federation, preferring to appeal to ethnic division and hatred rather than support the first practical solution offered since independence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSimilarly, the governors appeal to each other for more involvement of States in mining and geophysical activities within their States.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThe question must be asked: \u2018Why has this taken you so long?\u2019 Such opportunities and States\u2019 powers have been fully available since independence \u2013 yet only now the PDP realises it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shehu said the PDP governors proposed no solutions to nation\u2019s challenges in the face of COVID and global economic downturn.<\/p>\n<p>He also condemned their stance on the suspension of the activities of Twitter in Nigeria, saying they had been using the Twitter platform to spread fake news and invented stories.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dTheir statement is evidence, if any were needed, as to why the President and the APC ended the PDP\u2019s one-party rule in 2015, were re-elected by an increased margin in 2019, and why their winning trend is set to continue far into the future,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"adL\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Presidency says the People\u2019s Democratic Party Governors\u2019 Forum has refused to support the Federal Government\u2019s earnest desire to reinstate the local government as the third tier and finding a&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":82305,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[17],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-82303","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-exclusive"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
