{"id":82507,"date":"2021-06-20T19:38:46","date_gmt":"2021-06-20T18:38:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=82507"},"modified":"2021-06-20T19:38:46","modified_gmt":"2021-06-20T18:38:46","slug":"breaking-naf-strikes-modu-sulum-iswap-chief-who-took-part-in-shekaus-killing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/breaking-naf-strikes-modu-sulum-iswap-chief-who-took-part-in-shekaus-killing\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: NAF strikes Modu Sulum, ISWAP chief who took part in Shekau\u2019s killing"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) eliminated dozens of Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists in Lamboa in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State on Sunday.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe multiple airstrikes conducted by Alpha-Jets, L-39 and MI-35 helicopters hit a notorious terrorist, Modu Sulum and several others.<\/p>\n<p>Sulum, ISWAP Logistics Commander, took part in the elimination of Boko Haram factional leader, Abubakar Shekau in May.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Sulum was responsible for the destructions of power transmission towers at Malanari along Maiduguri-Damaturu Highway and attacks on travellers in Auno and Jakana.<\/p>\n<p>The insurgents, in a convoy of eight gun trucks, had invaded Lamboa preparatory to attacks in the Mainok axis.<\/p>\n<p>Ground and air troops scuttled their mission after the NAF reconnaissance platform hovered over the location to confirm the targets.<\/p>\n<p>NAF Director of Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet said the operation was successful.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cOf the eight terrorist gun trucks sighted by our surveillance team, the aircraft took out six and an unconfirmed number of terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNigerian Army troops and our air elements are mopping up the area and assessing the situation\u201d, the spokesman told journalists.<\/p>\n<p>Gabwet hailed the vigour and synergy by all segments of the Armed Forces in the North-East theatre.<\/p>\n<p>Military offensives have heightened with the resumption of office of the New Theatre Commander Operation Hadi Kai, Major General Chris Musa.<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"adL\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) eliminated dozens of Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists in Lamboa in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State on Sunday.
