{"id":82518,"date":"2021-06-21T07:40:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-21T06:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=82518"},"modified":"2021-06-21T07:40:00","modified_gmt":"2021-06-21T06:40:00","slug":"trigger-happy-cop-kills-five-enugu-youths-injures-four","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/trigger-happy-cop-kills-five-enugu-youths-injures-four\/","title":{"rendered":"Trigger-happy cop kills five Enugu youths, injures four"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1703155555309472786\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Enugu State Police Command on Sunday said it had arrested a trigger-happy police inspector who allegedly killed five people, while leaving four others critically injured.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nIt was gathered that the police inspector attached to Special Protection Unit Base 9, Umuahia, Abia State, started shooting residents at a lotto office to play Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>He was said to have gun down five young men.<\/p>\n<p>A statement by the Command\u2019s spokesman Daniel Ndukwe, titled, \u201cshooting incident at Golf Estate Enugu: CP Aliyu orders thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident,\u201d reads partly, \u201cThe Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, to carry out a thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident that occurred today, June 20, 2021 around 9.30 in the Golf Estate area of Enugu, involving a police inspector attached to Special Protection Unit, Base 9, Umuahia, Abia State and said to be on duty at RC Lotto Company located in the Estate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has been arrested and taken into custody pending the conclusion of investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ndukwe said that the commissioner, urged residents, friends of the deceased persons to remain calm and cooperate with the command in the ongoing investigation.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nMeanwhile, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has visited the victims at ESUT Teaching Hospital Parklane, Enugu, where they are receiving treatment.<\/p>\n<p>A statement by the governor\u2019s special assistant on media, Mr Louis Amoke, said the governor announced that his administration would pay all the medical expenses.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Enugu State Police Command on Sunday said it had arrested a trigger-happy police inspector who allegedly killed five people, while leaving four others critically injured.
