{"id":82712,"date":"2021-06-24T19:20:59","date_gmt":"2021-06-24T18:20:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=82712"},"modified":"2021-06-24T19:20:59","modified_gmt":"2021-06-24T18:20:59","slug":"new-york-suspends-gullianis-law-license-for-election-lies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/new-york-suspends-gullianis-law-license-for-election-lies\/","title":{"rendered":"New York suspends Gulliani&#8217;s law license for election lies"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1703472303184811224\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Supreme Court panel in Manhattan has suspended the licence of Rudy Giuliani, former United States\u2019 President, Donald Trump\u2019s lawyer over false claims he made during the 2020 general elections, New York Daily News reports.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Guiliani\u2019s licence to practise law in New York was revoked on Thursday, with a panel of judges ruling that the former mayor has violated his legal oath by peddling \u201cdemonstrably false\u201d claims about the 2020 election on behalf of his client, Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The five-judge Manhattan Supreme Court panel concluded in a blistering 33-page ruling that Giuliani\u2019s continued perpetuation of the thoroughly debunked claim that the election was stolen from Trump \u201cthreatens the public interest\u201d and erodes faith in American democracy&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe seriousness of respondent\u2019s uncontroverted misconduct cannot be overstated,\u201d the judges wrote about Giuliani. \u201cThis country is being torn apart by continued attacks on the legitimacy of the 2020 election and of our current president, Joseph R. Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The suspension, which takes effect immediately, is temporary for now.
