{"id":82757,"date":"2021-06-26T19:33:38","date_gmt":"2021-06-26T18:33:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=82757"},"modified":"2021-06-26T19:33:38","modified_gmt":"2021-06-26T18:33:38","slug":"zulum-suspends-french-ngo-for-conducting-shooting-training-in-borno-hotel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/zulum-suspends-french-ngo-for-conducting-shooting-training-in-borno-hotel\/","title":{"rendered":"Zulum suspends French NGO for conducting shooting training in Borno hotel"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1703652708850898237\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\">Borno Governor, Babagana Zulum has suspended ACTED, a French non-governmental organization in the state.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe directive followed Saturday\u2019s discovery that the humanitarian body was using a hotel in the state capital for shooting training.<\/p>\n<p>Zulum\u2019s spokesman, Isa Gusau announced the order in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>He said ACTED used toy guns and simulators in the exercises conducted at the location off Circular Road in Maiduguri.<\/p>\n<p>Residents had complained to the authorities that they were hearing gunshots.<\/p>\n<p>The matter was reported at the GRA Divisional Police headquarters and operatives found three toy pistols in the hotel during a search.<\/p>\n<p>Two trainers, both Nigerians are being detained and an investigation ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Gusau noted that pending the outcome, the hotel will remain sealed.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, ACTED has been barred from charitable activities in Borno.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGovernor Zulum acknowledges and deeply appreciates the roles credible NGOs have been playing in different parts\u201d, he added.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Borno Governor, Babagana Zulum has suspended ACTED, a French non-governmental organization in the state.
